You just revealed that you don't travel...because Prince has chewed Josh's a$$ out on the sidelines...particularly when he forced a throw that ended up being an ISU return for a TD. That was the game imho.
First off, I don't think Freeman is the problem with this team. But, as long as we are on the topic, I do think the Freeman situation was poorly handled. As much as Prince might yell at him now, Freeman knows he he will never be benched, so Prince has totally undermined himself in trying to motivate/coach Josh.
Here's what I mean: circumstancial evidence indicates Freeman was promised that he would start as a true freshman when he was recruited (
i.e., rumors from Nebraska, Freeman actually started as a freshman, and Evridge and Lopina left for unknown reasons). Even if not true, it doesn't matter, because Josh actually was handed the reins of the football team without proving he was ready -- after going 3-14 with an INT and no TDs while a back-up. In his first game he throws 3 more INTs, but he keeps playing, and Meier never sees the field again except for one trick play. Even during his total melt-down at ku last year, Prince never sat Freeman. On the other hand, this year Coffman gets pulled after fumbling once. (I also didn't like that Prince let the AD issue a Josh Freeman player card this year.) Freeman can obviously see he benefits from a double standard. Again, I don't think Freeman is the problem with this team, but I do think this is bad coaching by Prince, and it has perhaps kept Josh from being motivated to become the best player he can be.
