As the clock expired today my name is no longer relevant.  But I want to throw some thoughts out regarding our team.  First and foremost they are a good team.  The elements are there to succeed.  We simply can't afford to make the kind of mistakes we made today.

It started with the fumble KO return.  Then we had at least six dropped balls.  Two of which were on third down plays.  One was dropped that would have been a touchdown in the 3rd quarter.

Too many times we didn't get stops on third down.  Then there were the blown calls.  One took place on a thrid down play, in the second quarter, when they threw to their fulback.  He made a diving effort but on the replay the position of his arms that the ball hit the ground.
Take that play away and their attempting a 30+ yard feild goal instead of ending up with a touchdown.

But the granddaddy of them all was calling Leon out of bounds late in the game.  An official should never call something he didn't see.  Then for the replay booth to call for a replay, this took away our emotional advantage.  Then they say the play is not reviewable.  Double Damn!

Don't get me wrong these are excuses.  Just facts.  At the end of the day, we have to catch balls.  We have to score touchdowns in the red zone.  But when calls take points off the board, it is inexcusable.

We lost to an inferior opponent.  That is why it sucks so bad.  But we still control our bowl destiny.  If we play up to the level we are caplae of we can win out.  Yes I know that includes Missouri.  I bleed purple.  I believed ion K-State and Bill Snyder in 2004 and 2005.  I will believe in Ron Prince and this tyeam now.  As a fan, it's my part.  Support this team and it's coaches, even when I would do some things differently.

Progress is being made.  Freeman, in an off day was 28-44 with 347 yards.  But in the red zone, we ran on first down, usually for no gain.  This let the defense t-off on 2nd and 3rd downs.  How about a little play action?  Maybe a boot leg pass or perhaps a QB draw.  I'm just saying.... there might be some other plays we could use!

Anyway, last post as NorthChamps07 :violin:  But I will still be loud, proud and purple!  Go Cats!

    THE b IS NOT CAPITALIZED

I believe in Ksu.
I'm telling you, this is not ANYTHING like the team from the beginning of conference play. You will see no more blowouts like what happened in OOC.  If we lose, it will not because these kids gave up, and it will be at the buzzer. -Rodless, before 97-70

Agreed on all points.    I can't believe Freeman threw for 347 yards...Like you mentioned, seemed like he was having an off day.  Also, Jordy didn't seem to be catching everything thrown his way.  Specifically, I remember in the first quarter, he dropped a ball about 25 yards downfield that would've given us a pretty big first down.  And then he dropped another one on the slant pattern that would've given us a TD.  We ended up settling for a fg.

It's crazy that when our two offensive weapons have "off days" they still throw for 350 yards and have 150 receiving yards.

Too many stupid to's though.
