if they lose they will be on a 5 game slide.  Losing 6 games in a row is tough to do even for ISU and Baylor.  If ku woodshed's nu like I think they will anyone else think that we might be in trouble up there?

I know, I was actually thinking to myself, that this would be a game that I would actually find myself rooting for ku.

However the point stands, are they 6 game losing streak bad?

ku will destroy NU.  McAnderson and Sharp might combined for 600 yards.  Likely that every handoff will end in a TD for ku.

I'd rather have them coming off a loss then a win over a top 10 team.  I think NU is pretty much done whatever pride they had left was taken when they blew the fourth quarter lead against Texas.  They made their stand last week and still lost and now they've got Joe Ganz at QB for the rest of the season.  I also like our chances because they seem to play better on the road and worse at home.  Less distractions on the road and don't have to worry about all the criticism and the booing etc.

I am considering wearing red and booing the living s**t out of them just to get a reaction out of the folks sitting around me.

NU can't stop the run and we can't run so that is a wash.  We can't stop the run and NU can't run that great so small advantage NU.  Our coach is smart (scary) and theirs is a douche/moron so we win that one going away.  They have home field but their fans boo the s**t out of their own team so advantage us.  Ganz probably can't throw well so advantage us.  Ganz can run OK so  :ohno:.  NU's kicker/punter are good so that may hurt our return game.  NU hasn't missed a field goal all year but rarely kick them anyway.  We miss a few but lead in FGs made.  We score a lot and their defense gives up a lot of points so chalk another up for the good guys.  They don't score very much and our defense is mediocre at best so push.  I'm a pessimist so we're screwed.

They're 9th in the league in rush offense 3 spots behind us so I don't  know that it's a strength for them.   They were actually a better passing offense with Keller then they were running but without him I do think they're going to run it more.  What I've hear about Ganz is he doesn't have the arm strength to stretch the field.  We should be able to stack the box to take away the run and not worry too much about getting beat deep.

On D they're flat terrible against the run dead last by far and I think we'll run it on them just like everyone else has.  We should be able to throw it too though it's not like they're lights out on pass D.  They're dead last in total D for a reason and it's because they are not very good.  We're averaging about 150 yards a game rushing in conference play it's not like we can't run the ball.  Nebraska is giving up 275 per game on the ground which is 50 yards more then the next closest team and over 100 yards more per game then we give up.

Our Pass offense vs. their pass D.

In reality, if we come to play the next two games, get it done on STs, and win the TO battle we should win both games comfortably.  NU gives up 30+ points and 500+ yards per game.  ISU outgained them and there was a major turning point in that game when ISU threw a pick that was brought back for a score while going in.  It could've easily been a 4 point game going into the 4th.

NU will likely get some rush yards against us, but with a back-up QB they are likely much less dangerous.  I think even if they get 175-200 against us as long as we don't turn it over we'll be fine.  Plus, their pass defense is giving up over 7 yards per attempt and their numbers still aren't great after playing a couple of teams that came in wanting to run the ball.  IMO these next two games are much more about how we play than our opponents.  Its not like we have to play perfect to win.  Again, win STs and the TO battle and we are fine in each of these.

ku is gong to roll NU.  The only point of excitement/anticipation should be whether or not a player on ku will win another Offensive Player of the Week award as that would make it the 5th straight week a player vs. NU has won the OPOW award.

As for us, we're going to see from NU's defense the same thing UT saw.  They are going to try to blitz Freeman silly.  If JF turns back into a turnover machine, we'll get beat.  If not, we should be okay.

on the other hand in conference play they are:

10th in TO margin and KSU is first.

they rush for 10 yds/gm less but allow an astounding 90yds/gm (dead last in the conference) .

they generate 50yds/gm less in total offense and allow 115yds/gm (again dead last in the conference)more than KSU.

their offense generates 2 first downs less per game and their defense allows 6 first downs more per game (you guessed it dead last in the conference) more than KSU.

their defense generates on less sack per game and their offense gives up one sack more per game than KSU.

KSU owns them in both red zone offense and defense.

Their offense is slightly better at converting 3rd downs but their defense is horrible at forcing a 4th down giving up 50% conversion rate (tied with mu and only exceeded by isu).

nu is 11th in time of possession (almost 4min. less a game than KSU).

It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

broad range data as well as recent trends (if you can call one game a trend) are important in evaluating a miriad of situations.

Q: What's the difference between the Nebraska Cornhusker coaching staff and a dollar bill?
A: You can still get four quarters out of a dollar bill.

NU's pass D is serviceable. However, Grixby, their best cb, plays 10 yds off the WR almost every play. Ron will throw short to Jordy and they cant tackle worth sh*t so Jordy will be running free all game long. He'll essentially be a RB (like all yr). I just have a feeling that Deion will blow up vs NU. Quincy Morgan style.
(and so will Jordy)
