You can't be racist and like basketball.
We stand to bring additional funds ... via the non-revenue sports.

hmmm.

I see your point, but I don't see how something like a swim team could help all that much.  I agree that Weiser needs to spend more, but don't think adding a bunch of non-revenue sports is the answer.

Isn't Cheerleading considered one of the "sports?"

Where are we on 5 star recruits?

I'd like KSU to have more sports as well, I just don't see the need to go take $3 million a year out of the students pocket to pay for it like another school does.

Well I'm sure glad you care about those poor students who have to fork over an extra $40 a semester to support the women's rowing program.

Always good to see that an athletic department that you always brag about being so "rich" needing to ride on the backs of the students to pay the bills.

Sure, you can always bring in more when the non-revenue sport that brings in the most revenue (in one way of thinking) operates at a net loss of about $1.5 million a year.

$40 a semester per student to fund hot cheerleaders and classy cats . . . well worth it.

What are we going to spend our riches on?  I vote for a tower filled with gold nuggets and treasure chests ala Scrooge McDuck.  We will need to hire GizmoDuck to protect it from those god damned Beagle Boys though.

SEATON HALL   :chainsaw: :chainsaw: :chainsaw:

The Architectural Engineering Department's portion of Seaton is great.

Awww... those are some cute little numbers.  You guys might finally be able to compete with the big boys someday.  BTW, I have no idea what the hell you're talking about with the "certain school down the road" building facilities that 99% of the students will never set foot in. Kansas is adding on four more basketball courts, additional weight room space, a full-size track, virtual golf, and more raquetball courts to the student rec center.  I'd say that benefits about 99% of the students on campus.

You must be referring to the women's rowing team getting approval for a brand new boat house.  The football team's already got a $31 million football facility on the way and the basketball team is getting another $15 million for improvements to Allen Fieldhouse.  With the kind of football season Kansas is having, I expect the money to just keep rollin' in.

I see ku is keeping up w/ another school that already has virtual golf (and a very nice real golf course - top 10 collegiate course by Golf Digest), plus this...http://www.k-state.edu/yesrec/...which will still have KSU students paying less for similar things than the students at ku do/will.

Larger budget numbers do not = better management and efficiency.

Yes, we have improvements to the Bram about to wrap up. These improvements will bring in more cash. Also KSU has $45 million worth of improvements on the way for b-ball and football.

It's nice that ku is finally catching up...I guess.

Go find my studio last semester. I wrote a list of all the things wrong with it (i'm talking asbestos wrong. Not bad paint job wrong) . It was long. Seriously.
