2004 and 2005 showcased the most undisciplined Wildcat teams i've seen in quite some time.  Mental mistakes, blown assignments, PENALTIES, etc cost us a few games, IMO.  I was mainly thinking about the penalties, though.  How did those 2 teams compare to some of the 90's teams?

I just think if we played smarter football the past couple of seasons, we'd still have a bowl streak going.  The talent on the field wasn't all that much worse, IMO.

Penalty yards per game:

2005 - 75.2
2004 - 45.3
2003 - 48.4
2002 - 58.4
2001 - 65.5
2000 - 71.6
1999 - 78.2

Thats as far back as the stats at kstatesports.com go.

For the four good seasons, we averaged 64.15 penalty yards per game.

For the three horrid seasons, we averaged 62 penalty yards per game.

Does anybody have any stats on delay of game penalties?  That seemed to be consistent with the past.  I have a lot of hate for that penalty.

You can't be racist and like basketball.
I'm sure we'll be disciplined this season.

We'll also be fast, strong, tough, and consistently compete for championships.

WRONG. That may have prevented us from going 5-6 instead of 4-7 and 6-5 instead of 5-6, but the main reason we sucked these last two years is across the board suckage.
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

Why it will improve ... Snyder system, to much thinking, means to many guys all caught up in worrying about all the crap they needed to do on every play.

That really frustrated me.  We'd always burn through our time outs quickly, and in some cases try to call them when we didn't have them.  Or we'd just get a delay of game.

im pretty sure i heard prince say during the spring game when dylan called a timeout to avoid a delay of game penalty that he would have preferred dylan to just take the penalty so it will be interesting to see how that turns out over the course of next season.

special teams turnovers (overall poor sp teams really) were the #1 reason for fallback the past 2 seasons.
#2 would probably be lack of def-line pass rush
