God, Baylor is so incredibly terrible.  My favorite play was a 4th down call where Baylor's QB and RB ran into each other and we tackled the QB for a loss.

Yeah, I actually lol'd, turned to an old timer next to me and said, "You almost feel sorry for them after a while, don't you?"

And he said, "No, I never do."  :blank:

Seriously, ISU is about to get "Chizik'd."

But our D scares me.

ISU can be a pretty physical team, at times we can too, if we don't play physical we could have a tough time moving the ball.

If we win the TO battle we win.

As a wiseman once said...

"unfortunately I took this exit off the main road and this thread instead read "Welcome to Tardville".

wiseman?  pffft...more like wiseguy..nyuck, nyuck.

a few things have me feeling better about this game.

1) Baylor pass D and pass Eff. D(remember, Mack knows) is >>>> ISU

sidenote: ISU not only surrenders 72% completion by opponents but also gives up 8.2 per attempt.

2) scoring off in B12 play = KSU 40.4...ISU 14.4...while games may be tight the percentages tend to show up as a game progresses.

But I'm still  :ohno: about this one.

Lot of FP and TC's in this thread.

Looks like I'll be deleting some accounts on here and sending you over to some of the Big 10 boards.

I think that they will move the ball on us some, I love our redzone D though and I bet they attempt a bunch of fg's.

I think we'll figure out a way to run the ball against them.

This will be as ugly as the Baylor game and not as high scoring.

    King of the Mountains

KSU plays WVU and Ian Campbell chases Pat White to the sideline knocking over Huggy and drinks his scotch.  Huggy tries to go Woody Hayes on Ian and Rob Jackson finally makes a play kicking Huggy in the groin.  Bill Walker developes all time man crush on Rob.

Y'all are forgetting the most important thing....Chizik formerly coached at our main rival and we own them....hence we own Chizik.

^^^Best point in this entire thread.  The ISU game is simply a continuation of our rivalry with Texas and domination of all things spawned from Texas.
Welcome back, Bill.

we just laughed.

'07 ISU game='06 CU game IMO.
Last year I had a bad feeling going into that game, and look what Freeman and Co. did.
Similar situation for both teams, on the road again. This game scares me as ISU usually plays KSU tough. Meyer and Blythe dont help that feeling much either.

KSU vs. ISU last ten years:

2006: 31-10 KSU
2005: 17-45 ISU*
2004: 23-37 ISU*
2003: 45-0  KSU
2002: 58-7  KSU
2001: 42-3  KSU
2000: 56-10 KSU
1999: 35-28 KSU
1998: 52-7  KSU
1997: 28-3  KSU

AVG:  39-15 KSU

*Everyone played us tough these two years

When KSU completely forgot how to defend the option . . . and the same day Glen Mason pissed down his leg in Lawrence against NU.

The high is supposed to be in the 50's in Ames this weekend. Party cloudy. It might as well be summer if it's that warm in November up there.

I'm going, see you all there. I hope the team plays better defense against the Clones than they did against Oklahoma State. That's what is going to win or lose this game. A defense that can tackle.

Put your fears to bed Boys, I think that we take 3 of the last 4. I cant see us losing to ISU. I dont know why I am feeling it, but I dont think that ISU has seen a QB like our boy Josh. That being said, if our O Line doesn't block...  :ohno:

I'd say MU's and OU's QB have a bit of an advantage on Freeman in decision making, but I’ll agree Freeman won't go down easy!  That being said I think KSU has a good chance to win out.  The ISU game will be closer than wanted by many, but KSU will pull it out.  The MU game is going to either be a stomping by MU or a stomping by KSU one way or the other.  I just have a feeling one team comes to play and one doesn't.  With Pinkel as HC I say KSU takes the game and wins out.

There is a good chance the KSU-MU game will be like 49-45 type game. Whoever has the ball last wins. If its a blowout, KSU is likely to be on the wrong side.

Unfortunately I'm with Rusty.

It looks like our team is starting to get a little gassed, and ISU is a decent team despite their record.  Add in that a lot of our guys are starting to get banged up and it could get dangerous.  I'm afraid we're going to just show up expecting to win(similar to Baylor 1st half) and ISU will punch us in the mouth and we won't be able to recover.

ISU is due for a win.  I see loss.

Of course, I also saw 4-8 last year.

I watched the first half of baylor and they played very solid defense, our oline did not stay with blocks well, and freeman didn't go through his progressions at times.  But we were better than them and it showed.

I think ISU will make it a game for a half but i don't think they have the offense to put us away.

I'm thinking 27-14 ish.

You actually have no idea what he checked to... do you?  :blahblah:

If we play as bad against ISU in the first half as we did agaiinst Baylor, we'll be down a couple of touchdowns.  Baylor dropped like 2 INT's in the first quarter alone.  I suspect ISU will switch coverages up pre-snap like Baylor did.  It confused the hell out of Freeman for a while.  They'd show man, Freeman would check to the fade to Jordy and then they'd back our of it and go zone.  We finally made an adjustment to that in the 3rd QTR on Jordy's touchdown catch where he faked a flag route and ran a skinny post.

God, Baylor is so incredibly terrible.  My favorite play was a 4th down call where Baylor's QB and RB ran into each other and we tackled the QB for a loss.

I've got a bad feeling about the ISU game as well. Feel good about MU, though. Go figger

I will continue to feel good about us playing Mizzou at home until they actually pull one out.  Of course, I said the same thing prior to the ku game.  :censor:!!!

Some of you need to grow a sack.  Iowa State is horrible.  They lost at home to Kent State and Northern Iowa.  K-State won by 20 points on the road at Texas.  The same Texas team that beat Iowa State 56-3.  Seriously, this game won't be close.

I understand being cautious and all, but seriously, KSU is gona roll ISU.  As long as at least half the team gets off the bus, this is a W.
