And the fact that we're ahead of a team like LSU in the Sagarin ranking kind of bothers me. There is no off-week in SEC football.
Regardless, there is more parity in the Big 12, the North is catching up to the South after a lull a few years ago. I find the argument that ku isn't playing Texas, Tech, and OU not to be as persuasive when you take into account that only OU isn't looking like a real dog in that group. Texas isn't impressive at all and Tech still can't play defense.
Top to bottom over the next 3 to 4 years the Big 12 North will be as good (if not better) as the Big 12 South, and the entire conference will be getting better. I think Hawkins will finally get his system truly up and running in Boulder next year. Maybe Mizzou isn't just a one-year flash-in-the-pan, but it is pretty early to be saying that. I don't know where ku will even after next week. K-State is rebuilding itself into a balanced hard-nosed football team, and Bill Callahan will be out at NU next season. Really, Iowa State has potential to right the ship, but crap that's a nightmare.
