If losing 41-6 to Missouri and 45-14 to Oklahoma State qualifies as an excellent job, what would a bad job be? Shooting the players?

    The "other" KSU
vanro031 I am feeling your pain. Honestly - I think that NU is headed in the right direction. I am not being a smart ass when I ask the following question: how many years do you think that Calafraud has set NU back? You all do have some pretty good recruits, so that might take some of the sting out of it, but this guy has ran NU straight into the ground. My guess is that it might take 3-5 yrs to make a complete recovery...

But the recovery will never make it to where NU was during the mid and late 90's.

I honestly think we have good enough talent to challenge for at least a Big 12 title in 2 years at most.  What i've seen is we're recruiting guys with very raw ability, but then putting them in a "box" so to speak, and not allowing them to just make plays.  NU could be back sooner than later.

And I don't see ANYONE making a run like NU from 93-97.  60-3, and playing in 4 NC games will take something very incredible to happen.  I don't expect NU to get to that level again.  Winning the north , with legit chance at the conference title, and a major bowl would be great.  Though at this point, I'd take not losing by 30+... :banghead:

Of course not, I have delusional fantasies about getting back to the form of 2003 and earlier - but realistically it wont happen... I am not sure if we will ever see another team like when NU won the NC in 1995. (I think that was the year) Unreal. I just hope for some legitimacy with KSU - When Buhl and the like were here, if one guy didn't produce, I could always count on another guy to pick up the slack. That just doesn't happen with this squad. Ian Campbell is the only guy that I have been able to count on week in and week out. Alas, that is the curse that we have until all of Snyder's guys are washed clean.

Hard to say how long it's going to take Nebraska to return. Really depends on who the next coach is and how quick he can everyone on the same page.
I'll give it 3 years to get out of the gutter....

Turner Gill could do it quickly.  Or Bo Pelini.  Make sure you hire one of those two  :hope:.
