Boston College loses to Va Tech in Blacksburg tonight.

Arizona State loses to Cal in Tempe on Saturday.

ku becomes the only undefeated team not ranked #1 in the BCS Top 10.

ku plays for all the marbles?

They got lucky in 1988 with top seeds going down right and left and getting to face two teams they were very familiar with . . . so lightning may strike twice.

I was talking to my baby's mama today (aka my wife) and had a big belly laugh with her (8 mo pregnant) about ku being the only team in the land "undefeated"... and NOT going to the NC!!! Here's a secret... I dont think they will be in a BCS bowl this year!  :nono: Shhhh

Three teams, dax. Three teams. Remember the one we faced in the Regional finals that year, too.

I havent bought into Va Tech yet.  I think they could be awfully overrated but the last half of the season will show.

If ku remains undefeated, they should be in the championship game.  To be denied would be a major black eye for the conference.  That is the frightening scenario.  Of course, this is like worrying about the taxes I'll have to pay on my lottery winnings.

How would they not

You don't have committees select who goes to CCGs

After A&M takes care of bizz this thread will be gold.

Even with no losses, I don't think ku cracks the BCS Top 2. The computers HATE their sos. Sounds familiar.

I wasn't talking about the CCG.  Nobody is.  Your hints would be all the mentions of various teams not in the conference.

Actually, the computers love them, relatively speaking.  Note their BCS ranking (9) is higher than their rank in any relevant human poll (10, 11, 12).  Also note that (in this undefeated scenario) their two best opponents are yet to come.

If ku can STAY undefeated, then they deserve as much consideration as anyone else. Boise State proved that an undefeated college team is still a good team and can provide an entertaining bowl game. That said, they still haven't played an upper level team and haven't faced any real adversity or pressure yet. They're due to lose at least a couple before the end of the season.

ku is not losing to A&M.  A&M is not a very good football team.  And I don't think ku is going to lose to OSU either.  Their best shot for a loss is MU.

If ku beats A&M, OState, Mizzou, and then OU in the CCG they deserve a shot at the national title.

Don't get your panties in a bunch.  It won't happen.  They have two good wins and both of those were nailbiters against teams that aren't ranked.  OSU, MU, and OU will all be more difficult.

But would it surprise you if they lost to all 3?

(and LOL if they lose to Nubb)

Yes.  I would be surprised.  IMO, if ku doesn't win the north it will be a choke job.  In their last 5 games, all they have to do is win 3 of them and one of those has to be MU....and that's under the assumption that MU doesn't drop one game before they face ku.
