This has been a tough year from Husker fans. The coaching staff has been exposed as a bunch frauds and incompetents. The team has flat out quit in a couple of games. Recruits are wavering.
But we're correcting the problem. Athletic Director Steve Pederson, the orchestrator of this debacle is gone. Bill Callahan, the master of the 800 page playbooks that magically includes 5 plays is gone. Kevin Cosgrove, the worst coach in football is gone. As soon as the Colorado game is done, they'll be receiving pink slips, and Nebraska will be looking for a new coaching staff. Tom Osborne is a hell of a guy to right this ship.
Bo Pelini, Brent Venables, and any number of hot prospects will be looked at and evaluated. The new head coach will bring a new approach, more fire and emotion, and restore Husker pride. The cupboard is stocked with top recruits, who have been languishing without a competent coaching staff to develop and train them. We'll have one soon enough.
We've lost Jonas Gray, a top RB recruit for the moment, but have a good shot to get him back. Blaine Gabbert visited Missouri, but still desperately wants to play for Nebraska. Getting the coaching staff squared away will keep the recruits we have on board, and also lead to some new prospects as well.
The overall strength of the program is amazing. Simi kuli, a 5-star DE, and the top JUCO prospect in the nation committed on Saturday, even as the Huskers were dropping yet another game. He said he loved the fans, the tradition, the big time atmosphere, and the program.
So for all of the Wildcat fans here who have ridiculed Callahan, Cosgrove, etc. for being terrible coaches, you've been proven right. But that fact should terrify you. Imagine what a competent staff will be able to do with the level of talent the Huskers have on campus...
This year has been a tough one, but Husker Nation will rise again. Be afraid...be very afraid.
