Our defense has been good this year. They're just struggling a little right now. They'll get it back soon.

    The "other" KSU
That video illustrates being at a level of dominance. Had ku done ANY of that this year (by any I mean more than one or two plays/game - MKAY) I would say that they are back. Some of those hits jarred fillings loose.

It really is amazing how much our defensive recruiting has sucked over the last 5 years.

Might as well let Jordy play both ways now.

Really need 2-3 capable nose tackles.  Cannot defend the run if the point of contact (where runningback makes contact with a defender) is 3 to four yards in the backfield.  Nose tackles have to hold the point to allow linebackers to attack the holes.  Right now, the linebackers have their hands full trying to disengage a multitude of blockers.  Ends are having to pinch the run to shrink the holes which opens runs off tackle plays.  So now, we have to either make educated guesses or pick our poison.

If you watch the videos closely, you'll see the difference between the defenses then and now. The defense doesn't drive through their tackles. They seem to rely on arm tackles, not wrapping up and driving through until the other guy hits the ground on his back. Just an observation.

hmmm.

ranked 2nd nationally in defense that year and only overtaken by tcu after the bowl game due to their playing a much inferior offense in their bowl.

7 teams on the schedule that year that finished top 30 in NCAA in scoring offense.

Destroyed Heisman winner Carson Palmer...also faced Tony Romo, Seneca Wallace, Chris Sims, and Andrew Walter that year...each started at least one game in the NFL last season.

But yeah...tackles video.

Stick and drive, keep your feet under you. that's how i was always taught, not just dive and hope you trip them up.

it is amazing to watch pierce and buhl wrap up and drive through those guys.  that is what laying the wood to someone should look like, some of those shots just hurt to watch.
Be a winner today
