This is Callahan's 4th year. He has 1 Big XII North title, one nine win season, and two bowl appearances. He finished one year with a ranked team at 24th after they won the Alamo Bowl. They gave Solich 6 years. He had 1 nine win season, 2 ten win seasons, 1 eleven win season and 1 twelve win season. He had one national championship appearance, 6 bowl games, 3 top 10 poll finishes, and 1 conference championship. Solich was a member of Bob Devaney's first recruiting class at Nebraska in 1962 (a school which had not won more than 6 games in a year since 1940). He was 5'7" and 150 lbs. when he arrived in Lincoln to play fullback. In his four years on the team, the Huskers finished 9-2 in 1962, 10-1 in '63, 9-2 in '64, and Solich won all Big-8 honors and was a captain of Nebraska's 1965 team that finished 10-1 and lost the national championship to Bear Bryant's Alabama squad in the Orange Bowl despite Solich's bowl record 166 return yards. He was the first Husker to ever rush for 200 yards in a game. He was inducted into the Nebraska Football Hall of Fame in 1992. He labored as a high school coach in Nebraska for 13 years before he was hired by Tom Osborne in 1979 as the freshman coach. He spent 15 years as the Huskers running backs coach: they led the nation in rushing in 9 of those years.Solich also had one very embarrassing loss at home to KSU and was fired right before the Cats kicked the snot out of OU's "greatest team ever" and the world realized that K-State might not be that bad despite their earlier losses to Marshall and Texas. He now works at Ohio and his boss is a 35 year old who played linebacker at KSU for Bill Snyder. This is Solich's 3rd year at Ohio. He has one conference division title, one nine win season, one bowl appearance (their first since 1968), one award as conference coach of the year, and one DUI.
