    The "other" KSU
When we were playing NOBODIES - if our biggest win came against a non ranked (at the time) in conf team, and a win over BAYLOR, we would barely be ranked - ku is 13/15 in the polls... is it me, or does anyone else think that ku has still sort of played NOBODY this year? (maybe it was because the competition was a lot better back in those days  :cyclist:, I dont know) Yeah, they beat us possibly on what will be looked at as our worst game this season and they stomped Baylor and the Non-con is self explanitory... does this merit such a high ranking? Look at Hawaii - Does ku beat Hawaii? I dont know - they wont play anyone.

BTW what happens when ku loses this year? Do they drop completely out of the rankings?

Hawaii is not very good, they had to comeback to beat San Jose State!
@ CU might be ku's 1st loss.

Yeah... a little whiney - I am just puzzled at the rankings, that's all. Jackass? ABSOLUTELY!!! I have been and always will be a Jackass - I have no problem with that. Also, many of my posts are just because of my location and I have no other grass roots info. I get the AP and that's about it.

The pollsters always seem to have a hard-on for ku.  Didn't they jump 12-15 spots to #6 after upsetting CU prior to KSU's 41-7 thrashing in the mid 90s?  WTF?  Nobody in the polls jumps like that, no matter who they beat.

    Not A Basketball Player
They are decent

They beat us when we were ranked

They are undefeated

They deserve to be ranked where they are.  (they should not be near USF FWIW)

We were ranked high at times before we beat people.  Also this year has just been crazy ku is one of the few undefeated teams left  you have to rank them fairly high when everyone else is losing.  Also we were ranked when ku beat us and we're ranked now so they have beat a ranked team on the road.

I'm waiting for us to pick up a few votes because some voter "accidentally" confused kansas and Kansas State like happened to us a few times.

 4. Oklahoma (1) 6-1 1,399
 5. LSU (1) 6-1 1,331
 6. South Carolina 6-1 1,247
 7. Oregon 5-1 1,177
 8. Kentucky 6-1 1,098
 9. West Virginia 5-1 1,090
10. California 5-1 1,065
11. Virginia Tech 6-1 951
12. Arizona State (1) 7-0 948
13. USC 5-1 932
14. Florida 4-2 865
15. Kansas 6-0 664
15. Missouri 5-1 664
17. Hawaii 7-0 551
18. Auburn 5-2 488
19. Texas 5-2 348
20. Tennessee 4-2 339
21. Georgia 5-2 279
22. Texas Tech 6-1 241
23. Cincinnati 6-1 194
24. Michigan 5-2 189
25. Kansas State 4-2 107

I've always believed that any game between similarly ranked opponents should be close and that if the higher ranked team wins by 2 or 3, then things are just right.  So by rights, a team like Tennessee should be favored by about 2 pts over Georgeia on a neutral field, maybe up to 5 with home field.

That being said, what do you think the Vegas spread would be if the following teams played ku in a neutral setting?
Southern Cal
Florida
Hawaii
Auburn
Texas

I'd have to think that USC and Florida, ranked just ahead of ku, could be anywhere from 12-20 pt favorites.  Hawaii and Auburn might be anywhere from a push to 10 pt favorites.  Texas I'd put around 13.

That doesn't sound like ku is ranked where they should be.

Are we honestly dissecting ku's ranking?

Honestly?

better than dissecting their attendance?
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

You have made it perfectly clear, but time will tell.
