    warm up the EMAW
Poo00shke (sp?) even threw some decent blocks, plus the option reverse.  Who knew?  I like.

I was very happy to see Pooschke back there, if they're smart they'll keep using that formation...it did seem to help afterall.

Yeah, I had no idea the WCO had an option play.   This must've been the new wrinkle Prince was talking about after the ku loss.

The "option" with Freeman was a big LOL!

But the option look with the reverse to Murphy was sweet.

Not even close. gopowercat.com is currently bitching about pretty much everything from the defense, to the game time, to bob davie, to being unbelievably insecure about ku.
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

Nebraska fans are currently asking Callahan if the option is actually part of the WCO.

The defense was pretty sh*tty.

It's just that we had a game where we saw:

1) shotgun
2) QB run game (LOL)
3) QB sneak

That's like, all they bitched about last year.

What did Bob Davie do?  I thought he was excellent.

QFT.  Although a lot of it is tackling, we are getting dominated up front.  Speed is fine, but we need some more size upfront.  Our NT (no matter who we had in there) was getting owned and our LB couldn't get off blocks for the second straight game in a row.  Hopefully Savage is exhausted from running all over NU.

"to bob davie"

I'm surprised I haven't seen more talk about the broadcasting crew last night.  What an abortion!  I'm glad to have the better TV package with ESPN involved, but they have got to find some dedicated announcing crews who actually follow the Big XII.

There was just such a disconnect thoughout the whole game.  Combine all of the oddities (weird shots of Topeka, horrible calls on ball placements etc.), it's like they weren't even broadcasting from Manhattan.

this is what i'm talking about, in terms of powertard rusty.

WTF are you talking about?  I never once mentioned the sound system being too loud/too quiet, never once mentioned ku, and my post was factually accurate.  The defense gave up entirely too many rushing yards.  F*ck you fatty.

I agree he was excellent.  I'm sure GP was bitching because he said "Kansas" once... :jerkoff:  Freaking mortal sin to forget the "state".  Davie showed some mad BBIQ    Also loved the "I love me some Deon"  Fatty needs make a Deon highlight vid with that soundbite in there (second request)

I wouldn't mind seeing some more option mixed in from time to time.  Josh is mobile enough to make it work.

Josh has some wheels but they take time to get going, he's not quick enough to run option.

I concur he isn't quick enough to run the option consistently, he just needs to pull it down and run straight up the field once in a while to keep defenses honest.

Didn't his PUP test involve running with the d-backs and safeties?

I think he can run the option.  He should run the option.   Imagine this.. Freeman runs option.. do you realize that defenses will now have to worry about bold and daring option?   Leon Patton would flourish in that kind of system.

:bs:

I wasn't calling for a change in offensive philosophy, and going back to the days of Roberson.  But just throw it in a couple times a game.  You guys act like Josh is a freakin statue, or like something.  Did he not scramble 20 some yards last year to beat OSU? He is more mobile than what you give him credit for.

The option will be something we see maybe once every few games, and the time we actually ran it, it looked horrible.  However, it will set up other things like Murphy's reverse in the past game.

Freeman is a pretty mobile guy, but this staff will not use him much in any form of QB run game.  Its not that Prince or Franklin are against it, but they are against it with Freeman and don't want to risk injury.  Part of that is b/c they simply believe his primary talent is with his arm and part probably b/c he has never been a running QB and they aren't going to waste time now teaching him how.  Good running QBs know how to take a hit and to avoid contact and I don't believe those are things Freeman is particularly good at.  That said, they don't completely have him avoid contact, for example he is often asked to blocked and had a great block on one of the reverses this past weekend.

The coaches can't be too worried about a Freeman injury, considering the plays where he's a lead blocker or a blocker at all.

Blocking is a lot less likely to cause injury than getting tackled.
