Who ever you are . . . "not even close" . . . so 47,800 in a 50,000 seat stadium is "not even close"??

No, it isn't.  The KSU athletic department says you had 46,039 for Snyder's last game.  You've had well over 53,000 in that stadium.  Over a 7,000 person difference.  And you're making us think 3,000 is a massive amount.

And you're sidestepping the fact that you didn't sell it out.  The man who delivered KSU from the laughing stock it was to a national contender didn't even warrant a sell-out in his final game (in fact, almost 8,000 short of the largest crowd to watch a KSU game).  ku was playing a bad Baylor team after a 2 hour delay because of a downpour and lightning.  KSU was honoring their greatest coach in any sport.  Why didn't it sell out?

On a more important note:  ku has a better football team than KSU.  You take your attendance smack, I'll take the better team.

Before public safety people stepped in and put a stop to it, KSU could cram over 53,000 people in there but by Snyder's last game, they had put a stop to it.   Plus, I don't recall saying that ku didn't have a better team than KSU (albeit I do laugh at some ku folks who think KSU is Terry Allen era like now), that just reinforces my point about the apathy of ku fans.   Again, ku never announces actual attendance, ku always announces ticket sold (if they're just not making it up altogether).  So ku sold just a little over 43,000 tickets aka 7,000 empty seats for team that's nationally ranked, playing at a very convenient time at home with tens of thousands of ku alumni and students with easy access to the stadium, one week after winning the Super Bowl and with new commemorative T-Shirts to pick up.

Why does this make you so angry??

ku didn't support their team when Mason had them Top 10. Granted we pisspounded them that year but still.

Angry?  Lordy there's bigger things to get worked up about (and honestly I don't get worked up about them either, life's too short).  Just pointing out flaws in your argument.  You must realize ku set it's attendance record last year and if the MU game had not been moved to Arrowhead, we would have broken it this year again.  Football's catching on at ku, but the interest isn't where it should be.  Am I disappointed in ku's attendance on Saturday?  Sure.  But attendance smack from a KSU fan is a bit silly since 1) KSU can't sell out it's own place  2) KSU didn't sell out Snyder's final game 3) ku has the better team.

Again, your defense for the usual ku apathy is KSU can't sell out.   ku has a better team, but KSU draws 3,000 more people than ku the week after a disappointing loss and a very late inconvenient start time for many KSU fans . . . and ku is ranked and undefeated.   Plus, who is really talking smack  here.   I merely pointed out that lowly KSU outdrew nationally ranked ku by over 3,000 fans.  Is pointing out the facts talking smack??

I think it was this week at ku (Plus WTF is this fall break crap??) . . . apparently the entire student body packs up and goes home, and all the alumni apparently covey up in their houses and refuse to leave.   Then again almost half of the undergraduate population at ku is from Johnson County; that big 35 minute drive back up for the game is a killer apparently.

I was actually surprised ku had 43,000 considering how many students went back home for fall break.

Back home? Two hours (which is easily the longest most ku fans homes are from Lawrence) wouldn't stop me from getting to a game. Another lame excuse.

Plus. Didn't basketball tickets go on sale this weekend? So every sports fan at ku would have been in town to get the basketball tickets. Thus, they would have been in town for the game as well. Right?

Lordy, this thread is still going.  Talk your attendance numbers, that's fine.  How 'bout these numbers:

39-20
30-24
6-0, 2-0

Those are the ones that matter, no?  Because if we rates teams by attendance, well then it's just Michigan and Tennessee every year, right?

    I'm impossible to fool.

Pitt . . . excellent spin.

Please point out the spin in my response, dax.  I mean, aside from me admitting that ku's fanbase has a basketball-first mentality and needs improvement, you've got a solid argument.

EDIT:

Once again, great fanbases aren't born overnight.

Exactly.  A lot of things factor into attendance.  I think % capacity and surrounding population matters more when determining who has more devoted fans.

64-0 btw

so if ksu was playing baylor(worst in big 12. well, tied with isu as the worst) at 11:30 saturday morning with 2 hours of weather delay, can you honestly say that ksu would still draw more than ku?  im pretty sure these factors would have subtracted 3,000 from your total.  and what a stupid argument in the first place.  I bet you were just sitting in your parents basement, and was depressed because ku is better than your all world mildcats. so you thought, "i know I'll start an argument about attendance!  That will put them in their place!"  and ku was allotted about 555 thousand tickets for the ku-mu game at arrowhead and "sold them out"

Again, what is about about "tickets sold" can't some resident squawks understand??  The delay wasn't announced until just before game time.

A better question might be 'how does lowly ku outscore nationally ranked KSU by six on the hallowed ground of Bill Snyder Family Stadium?'

What is 59-55?   I really don't get why K-State fans use that.  Are you really proud that you were able to beat ku once in 36 tries?

When K-State fans are resorting to "59-55" on a football board, there's really nothing left to do but sit back and laugh at how pathetic that truly is.  Congrats on that fluke win back in '05 that gives K-State one win out of the last 36 tries!

    The very best.
Thank you jim wooldridge for 59-55. without it the streak would be 36 games.

59-55. Scoreboard, look forward to taking 2/3 in lawrence this year.
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

Apparently, sqwawk fans would rather boast about their team than watch it. Understandable, because going to a game would involve actual face time with other sqwawkers.

QFT. They lost to a high school team and have no answer to it.

    I'm with Coco.
On top of the weather causing almost 3 hours of rain dealy, the students were also on fall break.  Like I said, if 43,000 in attendance for a ku/baylor game is the only thing you have to bitch about, then Kansas football is going in the right direction.

For a K-State fan to sit there and criticize another school about not selling out, when you had an 8:15 night game on ESPN against a decent Colorado team, that's just as weak as it gets.

Again, please point out to us why an 8:15 kick off is a good thing. It was awful. I missed all the other games of the day, tired as sin at half time, didn't get home till 1 (I live 3 miles from campus). Plus, being on national TV is another drawback as people are more likely to stay at home. But come on, spin some more. It's fun.
