I reeeeeally like "Top Shelf" because it recognizes the worth and talent illustrated in the post and the artistry of the poster.  This is generally used in a more OT, a"dive" type post or those from notable hucksters like: clams, chumster, fatty, kilgore, pvt. joker, or steve dave.  Plus it sounds awesome.  Just make yourself chuckle and then say "Top Shelf" like you are slapping yer buddy on the back after a particularly tart zinger.  It just feels right.

"QFT", for me, seems like someone trying too hard.  I understand that it holds different meaning than "Top Shelf" and is generally used in more serious discussions, but it just kind of rubs me wrong.  Where is the aesthetic appeal?  It confuses the n00bs, and that has its place, but to what end?  Quoted for truth.  That's the big pay-off.  Long decipherable acronyms can be fun, I like: TIA (that is all/thanks in advance depending on context), WTF?, OMG, LOL etc. because they are over the top ridiculous.  "QFT" has the feel of a 12 yr old launching into some 10-4s without a hint of irony.
