    Hey, basketball!!!
Players exhausted, dont you call a TO to set a play and give the O-Line a water break?

Absolutely no blocking for Josh that play = throwing the ball up on his back foot to Aqib.

    The very best.
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

I thought the 3rd and 8 needed the timeout worse.

He had the time. We only had two wide outs past 5 yards the LOS. Both were covered. We needed more options for him to throw to.

4th an a half yard....down six with eight minutes left..(approx)...ball at our own 42...and we punt into the wind?

That's where we needed some bold and daring.

Word.  I'm sure we could have figured out a trick play that would net us 1 yard, at least.

QFT.  That and not running the ball at the end of the 1st half showed some bad game management.

No you don't call a time out.  If you call that time out you have no opportunity to stop the clock if/when ku gets the ball back.  He game planned it right, unfortunately our D couldn't make a stop.  If they make a stop ku punts with the wind and there's always that chance we get a big return and either score or have fresh downs on their side of the 50 with 25-40 seconds.

They got the first down... end of story.

Exactly. I was screaming after we tried to rush that play on 3rd
down.  That's a crucial play because with our short passing game,
you'd like to at least get some positive yards. Instead we hurry and
get nothing and 4th and 8 makes it more difficult.

Prince has usually done pretty good with timeouts since he's been
here......but he fracked this one up.

You use the timeouts under 2 minutes and don't expect to get the ball back.  Yea the wind gives you a shot at them overkicking their coverage but we also could get pinned back to the 20 or worse.  Its ridiculous to save the timeouts.  I was wanting one on third too with the clock running.

under most circumstances with a better offense, i wouldnt have called a timeout in that situation either.  it was 3rd and 8 and they should have already had 2 plays called for 3rd and 4th downs.  but,  our offense has no ability to throw the deep ball so with this team it was probably the wrong decision.  i had a pretty good debate about that with my buddy while it was happening.  its a tough call.

It's just a matter of executing the two minute drill properly.  You practice it everyday and you shouldn't need to take timeouts to get the right plays called.
