It was a simple announcement of State track results, until Manhatter chimed in, and hilarity ensued:

Let's get one thing clear. Sharp's 10.6 was WAY over the allowable wind limit. Allowable wind limit for records is 2.0 meters per second and Sharp's 10.6 was run at 5.5 mps.

Sharp was the state's fastest at mid-season and now he would probably be 5th fastest if the top 5 raced. He peeked mid-season and the others are peeking now.

The rule of thumb is about .01 for every .01 of wind or it's close to that.

Sharp would have been 4th in the 6A 100 behind 2 sophomores and Dee Bell who ran a 10.67 at 4.4mps and the 4A winner ran a 10.68 at 3.9 mps.

Impressive long jump though...good luck to the kid.

First of all I added a extra zero...it's .01 time for every .1 of wind but it's actually .01 for ever .1-.15 of wind.

Leaping ability is NOT a good indicator of agility...it's a good indicator of explosiveness, genius. Josh Scobey went to the NFL combine and ran a 4.3 something and verticaled over 41"..he went in the 6th or 7th round and it did not surprise most because he was just a straightline runner.

As for the "Sharp beat Bell twice"....that would hold water if he were running better than all of the kids he beat at the ku Relays, but he's not. Sharp blew away Bell, Justin Woods, and Terrance Thomas at the ku Relays. Woods whipped Sharp yesterday and Thomas ran a full 2 tenths faster w/ less wind. I can't definitively say Bell would beat Sharp today but a beak can't say the opposite. Bell beat Woods just two weeks ago.

ku Relays: Sharp 2nd, Woods 4th, Bell 5th, Thomas 8th and times way behind Sharp's...

5A: 5A, oops the kid he smoked at ku Relays wins. Not to mention Bell beat Woods a few weeks ago.
6A: Thomas beaten badly by Sharp at ku but now running much better time w/ less wind.

Above all of this Bell led Thomas through 60 meters and a few weeks ago he had a tight race w/ Thomas where he led through 75 meters. Bell also led Sharp at ku through about 50 meters. It's apparent who is quicker.

As for the joker who tried to flap his yap about the 200 meters. Sharp had a wind of 5.4 and Bell had a wind of 3.0....in other words Sharp had a TON more wind and was also chasing Woods to the finish. Bell was the leader and coasted and in a 200 wind matters more because the runners are tired. Bell had run a 21.8 a few weeks ago, FAT, and w/ out wind. Sharp has not legitimately been under 22 seconds, ever.

The Bottom line is that Sharp would be anywhere from 4th to 6th fastest in Kansas right now. A few beaks will have to take back their earlier statements considering.

You've got to dumb things down considerably when trying to discuss anything with Moose.

It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

I have met the dude.  Half the time he actually means what he says and is being serious.  The other half he is just arguing for argue's sake.  He's funny either way, though, and shuts up the dumbass hawker "fans".
