    warm up the EMAW
"Playing in front of 86,000...took your team on the road against a good opponent and didn't get many penalties."

Prince: "If you don't beat yourself you can make yourself hard to beat.  Very pleased kids played hard, bought into the message of how we had to win that game."

"If it hadn't been for those kick returns and turnovers we would've won, did that offend you?"

Prince:  "I take that as a compliment.  Texas is like the Yankees.  I don't care about the offense, I want to excel in defense and special teams."

"I know you do care about the offense and limiting turnovers.  Did your offense perform poorly?

Prince:  "I'm responsible for how the ball moves in three phases,  if we can move it on special teams and stop movement on defense then you can play in a different way than the opposition.  We didn't have to take risks or chances on offense, particularly on the road, and I wanted to prove to our players and our coaches that we could disrupt them on offense.  We can only compete with them on speed.  #4 couldn't bail them out on routes down the sideline and Campbells return was a big play, but those incompletes were very important too."

"Rushing Defense, is it the key?  If so, how?"

Two things wanted to do.  1.  Relating to spread offenses, adding linebacker helped.  Also wanted to contest passes.  First two weeks didn't happen.  We wanted to put ourselves in a position where the other team couldn't just hand the ball of and move it.  We can't let the opponent run the ball in.  We haven't achieved that yet, but there is time left.

Can you compare defense this year to last year.

I'm cautiously optimistic.  Of the 30 meaningful statistics that the NCAA keeps they {ku} are better than us in 23 of them.

What would you describe ku?

They are the best team we will face so far.  They have no weaknesses.  They have a plan.  They have an explosive offense, their QB is 11th in the nation, hasn't even played most 4th quarters.  Has weapons to go to.  1 kickoff return team in the nation.  Concerned about match-ups.  Maybe they haven't had to disclose everything they can do.  Scared?  NO.  Respect?  Yes.

This is a more complete team offense, defense, special teams.  I'm not trying to pull a Lou Holtz, I can tell you this is a great team, well-coached and it will take a great effort to beat them.

sorry not the best transcription.

It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

Kat Kid's recap puts mine to shame. Oh well. Here's what I got...

ku = big challenge

Happy with the win last week, time to focus on next to the next challenge. “They’re make you play again in 7 days.”

He wants to play well and win on the road. Off season conditioning helps us to achieve such goals.

Open date helped us fix the penalties/ turnovers.

Mack Brown said if it weren’t for the two kick returns and int return, Texas would have won. Prince doesn’t dispute that comment at all. He took as a compliment. He didn’t care how we played on offense at UT. More concerned with how we played on defense and special teams.

When taking about Texas...If there was a college combine, we don’t quite matchup well in terms of talent, we matchup very well in terms of speed.

Key element in switching to 3-4 is adjusting to spread offenses.

ku = THE best teams we have faced this season. Continues to “talks up” uk...blah, blah, blah
 - #1 kick off return team in the nation.

ku is a more complete team than Auburn and Texas.

Doesn’t have an opinion whether the South in a better division than the North.

Understands that the in-state rivalry important to people in this part of the country. This game is about braggin rights.

Of course... But where do those stats come from? Playing weak ass teams will easily buffer stats like that.   :banghead:
