I read their site pretty regularly.  It's pretty entertaining and pretty informative.  The one thing they do not do well is predict games.  Their record, week-in and week-out, is not good.

I love it.  Everyone has had their damn heads in the clouds and been jinxing us.  Now we can be moral underdogs and win the game.  I love how getting into field goal range twice and two offensive touchdowns is going nowhere.

I still want my cooler, bitches!

that article is both correct AND laughable.

1) LOL dogging the offense.  The offense was just fine.  Maybe he noticed that top 10 USF produced no more offense than KSU did against Auburn?  Maybe he noticed top 10 Florida produced no more offense than KSU did against Auburn?  Maybe he noticed that even in Mississippi State's win the Bulldogs had a paltry 210 yards of offense?

Only dumbasses sit there and dog the offense for just producing 270 yards in a win where KSU, or any team for that matter, scores 41 points.

Here are some truths...

- when you score a Defensive TD and two special teams TD's you do not get the ball offensively for those possessions...it goes back to the other team after a score.  This isn't "make it, take it".  An additional three drives and KSU likely adds another 80-100 yards of offense.

- Several of the offensive possessions producing scores were short field opportunities.  If you have short fields you are not going to amass a lot of yardage.  The running game worked just fine when we needed it to....remember JJ's 15 yard run to set up the FG to go up 24-14?  How 'bout JJ's 12 yard run on the first drive to set up 1st & Goal?  How 'bout on the final score taking the ball and running it right through UT's D from about 40 yards out on 6-7 plays to nail the coffin shut?

2) Pass rush.  ku will not generate the type of pass rush that Auburn and UT are capable of applying.  So how does the short passing game matter?  Freeman should have all day in most instances throwing the ball vs. ku.  Even good secondaries or back 7's will get exposed by a good short passing game if there is no pass rush.

He was correct that KSU can't expect to get all of these turnovers and special teams plays against everyone...particularly a team like Kansas.  Of course ku has yet to show anything vs. teams of the caliber KSU has played against and controlled the game.

ku is operating off of credit by the media...credit for bullying nobodies.  I don't get it.

A good example of KSU not getting it done in the trenches.

Ks    2-3    at Ut23    Patton, Leon rush over left end for loss of 3 yards to the UT26 (Houston, Lamarr).
Ks    3-6    at Ut26    Freeman, Josh RS pass complete to Nelson, Jordy for 10 yards to the UT16, 1ST DOWN KS (Bobino, Rashad), QB hurry by Melton, Henry.
         Drive: 3 plays, 14 yards, TOP 04:21
         Kansas State 34, Texas 21
4th Quarter

Ks    1-10    at Ut16    Start of 4th quarter, clock 15:00.
Ks    1-10    at Ut16    Johnson, James rush over left guard for 3 yards to the UT13 (Muckelroy, Rodd).
Ks    2-7    at Ut13    Patton, Leon rush over right guard for 8 yards to the UT5, 1ST DOWN KS (Miller, Roy).
Ks    1-G    at Ut05    PENALTY KS false start (Mastrud, Jeron) 5 yards to the UT10.
Ks    1-G    at Ut10    Johnson, James rush over left end for no gain to the UT10 (Jackson, Erick).
Ks    2-G    at Ut10    Timeout Kansas State, clock 13:05.
Ks    2-G    at Ut10    Johnson, James rush over left end for 8 yards to the UT2 (Griffin, Marcus).

I feel that KSU and Josh Freeman will not have all day to throw, remember last year. They will get to Freeman, trying to force turnovers. I feel that this will give Freeman the oppurtunity to throw down the field, due to ku's man to man coverage. Freeman will have to have a good game for us to win, compared to the Texas game, with an average performance.

Remember KSU's offense can move the ball (auburn and Texas), the problem they face is the lack of run game or deep pass to accomplish the big play/ touchdown, we saw in the 06' Texas game. I feel we will figure out either the run or the deep pass due to constant blitzes. KSU wins by 14 pts.  Reesing has average game due to big play ability, Talib does not show up to this contest. 28-14.

That is the worst opening line I have read in a LONG time. These jerk-offs all want to be the one known as "The guy who knew something that nobody else knew" in picking ku over us. They are idiots. I dont listen to anyone... I am frankly in shock that Mark May has been riding our nutsack - namely Josh Freeman.

Funny... ku fans used the same argument last year when ku won 39-20.  The defense set up at least 3 TD's, but K-State fans acted like that made the game some kind of anomaly.

It was not an anomoly, its part of the game, just as KSU's STs and D scores were vs UT.  Granted, you don't expect those every week, but the fact that we did them is not some sort of lucky coincidence and our success will change the way opponents play us in the kicking game and on offense.  ku will make adjustments based on what we did vs UT, now K-State must anticipate and find those during the game and counter them.  Most K-State fans don't believe Freeman will make the same mistakes as he did last year, especially at home.  He's a different (and much more mature) QB and this is a much more diverse offense.  Also, I don't believe ku's front 4 is quite as good as it was last year, though certainly the secondary is much improved.  I'm not sold ku will be able to put a ton of pressure on KSU without blitzing a bunch.

The UT guy at Barking Carnival nails the reason for KSU's seemingly somewhat mediocre offensive performance last weekend:

Quote
Once we decided to match our secondary coverages to our fronts, we tightened up. Prince shrugged. He already understood that he was going to win the game. Running the KSU offense was simply a matter of not turning the ball over and getting off a good punt while their special teams and defense anally fist us and give them back the ball with a short field. He clearly picked up some tricks from Tommy Tuberville during the Auburn game. People who laud our defensive performance in this game are in for some rude awakenings down the road when teams start playing not to punt.

That's funny.

39-20 was last season.  39-20 makes it two of the last three.  59-55 is ancient history and still makes it like 35 out of the last 36 for ku.

Oh, and K-State is not our "Texas."  Mizzou is our "Texas."  K-State is just the red-headed step-child to the west.

They can't handle Texas so they've been forced to adopt a second-rate program as a surrogate.
