They may try to tell you there are three parts to every game:  Offense, defense, and special teams.

Typically the best teams only excell at one of the above.

If you excell at all three, typcially you suck in the wins department.

If there’s one thing that ku can teach us, it’s that gaudy point  production against overmatched opponents is far more important than winning football games with excellent special teams play, an opportunistic defense that can stop the run and force turnovers, and an efficient offense. 

Good pick up on the misspelling.  If you could correct the grammatical and syntax errors, I’d appreciate it as well.

How is ku's special teams?

They have 3 TD's in 4 games, and lead the country in KO returns, so I guess it's pretty good.

I didn't realize that before I started the thread over there.  (They're so damn irrelevant to me).

We're 26th in KR and #1 in PR. 42nd in net punting and 48th in TO margin.

ku is #1 in KR, 40th in PR, 95th in net punting, and T-18th in TO margin.

Think there's a huge opportunity on punt returns for K-State? ku apparently hasn't done real well covering punts, and we're numero uno in returning them.

I see us winning the field position battle by a fairly wide margin.

Mack Brown thinks special teams are overrated, or rather not part of the "real game".  He's sounding like the most bitter coach this side of Pinkel after MU lost to ISU.
