It's good to be good again!
My die hard UT alumni in-laws were nice enough to invite me to the game.  They have tickets on about the 35 yard line just under the over hang of the second deck.  Watching the game from the middle of the enemies stronghold gave me some interesting perspectives on the game.

Before the game I was standing in the tunnels waiting for my crew to stop at the concession stand and get out of the restroom.  I was welcomed to the stadium by a parade of UT cheerleaders (both the S&M chaps wearing hoochie mamas and the standard short skirt variety).  I thought this was very nice of them and a good example of Texas hospitality.  Generally they weren't up to the USC song girls level but still made remember why your college years are some of the best years of your life.  Thankfully my wife was one of those still in the restroom during the parade.

Since I was no where near the students the crowd was generally nice to me.  They gave my father-in-law crap for bringing a K-State fan but no one was rude to me.

The funniest moment happened after one of our TD's and the KKKKKK,  SSSSSS, UUUUUUUU,  Wildcats cheer is echoing through an otherwise silent DKR Memorial Statium.  My mother in-law leans over to me and says, Ya'll sure are loud.  :D  Hear ing that cheer that loud in their stadium was absolutely priceless.

The most classless moment was when they booed our team off the field at half time.  They frustration was starting to show in the fans at that point.

The stadium announcer blows....he sounds like Mac Brown.  The funny part was how dejected he sounded in the fourth quarter when we would make a first down.  He reminded me of Bob Ueker in Major League.  I fully expected to hear his next call to be "Jordy Nelson for another K-state first....ah screw it I'm going to go get drunk, who's with me"

Their Jumbo-Jumbo-tron is just stupid big.  Some grad student at UT needs to start a research study on the cancer rates of the people who sit under that thing.  I'm sure their life expectancy goes down a year or two per game watched.

Based on the conversation I was hearing the alumni hate their OC Greg Davis and I think the only reason Mac is still there is because VY has god-like powers.  If Colt can't go next week and Chiles has any sort of success against OU look for a QB controversy to rise in Austin.  My uncle in law said that Colt hasn't been the same since we hurt him last year.  The impressing of their fan base is that Chiles is VY.

Thanks for the story, Houstoncat.  Did they break up the KSU seating section this time?  Thought I saw a good number of fans in the upper deck too.
As God is my witness, I thought turkeys could fly.

Yeah it was.  The corner section was under construction so half the purple was in the nose bleeds.

    shame on you, non-believers

Thanks for the report, HC.  The KSU chant was highly audible on television at least a couple of different times during the game.  The announcers mentioned how quiet the stadium was at times, but it sure didn't sound that way when the KSU fans cheered.
