Well folks I might as well give you my update on last night's events as well. The following is a recap of last night's events.

Jack Harry did a little story about the CATBACKER EVENT in KC last night in his nightly sports spot on the NBC news in KC that I watched just before hitting the sack for the night.  Showed a few of the players being interviewed surrounded by bluehairs that can afford such luxurious events, few nerds getting crap signed (SORRY PETE!), etc.

Anywho- he interviewed Clent Stewart.  It was some basic canned question to which Clent gave some basic canned response.

I turned off the "news" and went to bed.  Last night I slept really well (up late the previous night because of loud and violent lightning storms came through KC  :ohno: ) - It was a sleep meant for kings... During my slumber I was awoken only once, somewhere around 4:20 am by a bored and lonely persian cat who meowed loudly at me for a few brief moments before returning to whatever bored lonely persian cats do at 4:20 am.

My dreams came in the shape of a spider, Clint Stewart, a golf course, and some old man who I was not able to identify.  Clint was sitting on the couch, I was playing golf and walking through the pro shop where Clint was sitting watching the spider.  I walked past him and he said something to me.  I got in his face and told him to enjoy his time on the bench this season.  The spider kept walking and left the room we were in.  I woke up to a cat meowing. EOM.

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

New warning: Don't get in a fight with someone who doesn't even need to bother to buy ink.

maybe clent sitting on the couch is to foreshadow him on the bench.   :fatty:

Keitz basically told the players that they are the saviors of the program and placed what amounts to the biggest burden in the history of KSU sports on their backs...good firey speech by KK.  Got the blue hairs in a tizzy.

I would give just about anything to hear this speech..

I gave $35, not including beer.

It was a good speech...very un-radio like.

It's funny you mention that because we spent a good part of our night joking about what must be going through Beasley's mind when all the old laddies and comic-book guys stroll up and make chit chat before asking him to sign a cocktail napkin.

We did witness a guy mix up Beasley and Walker...he had an athlon with Walker on it and had Beasley sign it.  Dude turns around to our table and shows it off to us, at which point a guy at my table goes "you just had Beasley sign on Walker's photo?"...dude just gets back in line and has Walker sign it as well.  Nice little collectible to pass down to the grand kids there.

Lon Floyd has a marvelous head of hair.  Quite striking in person.

Christ, that is retarded and hilarious.

Yes, this was discussed as well.

Frank told us that "for those of you who read the message boards, I think you'll be excited about a recruiting battle with ku..." something to that effect.

this could be anyone, now that ku is reduced to chasing ksu recruits (lol at that, btw):

that i can recall, both schools have been mentioned with the following ´08 recruit.  obviuously, some schools/recruits do not have current reciprical interest.

little, gilchrist, witherspoon, keller, davis*, stutz, warren, miles, and denmon.

* possibly an ´09.

I think the only 08's that we both have legitimate shots at are Witherspoon, Little, and maybe Gilchrist.  Anyone else and I'm less excited.  I almost want Little just for immediate 08 help and experience on the squad, but I'd probably be happiest with Spoon.  Gilchrist is top notch too.  I'd be happy with any of those three, anything else and I'm disappointed in the over hype by Frank.

1. Spoon
2. Gilchrist (only because he's flaky and I'd be on the edge of my seat until he actually got here.)
3. Little

We have four scholarships now that Samuels is here, right? Assuming, Beas and Walker leave and Sutton is on the team. So a class of Spoon, Gilchrist, Little ad some other guy would be pretty damn good. I mean, about what we were expecting outside of landing Kadji.

At this point I don't even have that much faith we'll get Little or some other guy.
