K-State had some good teams with El Roberson and Darren Sproiles back in the day so that isn't surprising.

Except we never lost to those guys.

If I'm not mistaken, Ell fumbled late in both games which pretty much cost of the game.

It absolutely cost KSU the game at Texas, KSU was all set up to be 1st and 10 deep in Texas territory late in the game, and Ell fumbled.

2002 we lost because our nickelback (James Dunningan) got beat on three long pass plays that were all of the offense that Texas could muster.

That and the fact that our kicker couldn't get the ball over the offensive line, and theirs' could.

I thought in the '02 Texas game that Ell fumbled in Texas territory and then Chrissy marched them down the field for the go ahead score, although I realize we missed the field goal to tie.

That would have been Vince Young marching them down the field only to not get into the endzone, but having it called a TD anyway.

yes, KSU(and I believe it was Ell) fumbled deep in our own territory in that 2002 game.  I don't recall if that set up the FG because it seems to me Newman picked Simms on the next play?  I think uT may have mustered a drive to get into FG position for the 3 pt margin we couldn't answer when the kick was blocked at the end.

Good call on Dunnigan...those big pass plays was the only thing Texas could accomplish that night.

I want to say that in the 5 games UT and KSU have played KSU has outgained UT in 4 of the 5.

Based on those #'s it appears that we've done better against UT than Nub. Surely the numbers are UT is 1-6 vs Nub, given their prowess in the Big12.

I guess since UT is our rival and OU is theirs, that may explain it.

Thank you, I will take extra salt rubbed into those wounds AND a twist of lime for good measure!

GOD I hated those losses, I felt like I was being kicked in the nuts when :nutkick: we missed those two FGs. I also had a feeling that Ell and his fumble would have lost the game... and it did.
