Tonight:  Mario Little, Josh Crittle, and Herrera.  Mario smiled at the chants, and some signs the guys in front of me had made.  I wish we'd done some chanting or sign making for Crittle.

It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

You forgot to label all of the security guards.  Wasn't that the Nebraska game?  Wasn't Kenny Davis there too?

Im pretty convinced that the fat dude in between the Brown Bro's is Brian Butler. Go ahead and add his name to that picture.

KSU fans can forget about the Brown boys.  Arthur, who attended one ku game this season, will go to a traditional power.  Arthur probably choose USC or Florida.

Bryce Brown, who was attended two ku games this season, will probably take the same path.

They'll go here (longshot, but a beautiful dream) or OU.

One thing is sure...there isn't a chance in hell that ku gets them. We're still on his top 16. You didn't even make the top 22 cut.

I don't recall ever saying ku was going to get either recruit.  I just noted that Arthur has attended one game at Lawrence and Bryce has attended 2.

I am just stating that neither ku, nor KSU, has a chance to get either recruit.  And if any fan of either college thinks these guys will stay in state, should get their heads examined.

BTW, ku is still on the list of Bryce Brown.

All I'm saying is that K-State is still on Arthur's list and ku is not. What does that say about your program?

It doesn't matter.  Brown is not going to KSU.

Why the hell would he choose a program that had a decade of success in its history over a Florida or USC?

KSU is not even close to the same level as Florida and USC.  They are football powers and KSU is a barrel racing power.

BTW, your team is still down 20 games in your series w/ the lowly Jayhawks (35 wins 55 losses and 5 ties).  Not to mention ku has 3 players (soon to be 4) in the NFL hall of fame to KSUs zero.

What does that say about your program?

It says that our program is very young and is still much more respected than ku's. Pathetic for you guys, really. As for your questions regarding why Brown would chose KSU over a traditional power...why did Freeman pick us over NU? Why did Lamark pick us over all of his big time offers. Why is Cooper Bassett still a solid verbal when OU is desperately trying to get some attention from him? It comes down to ku not being on A. Brown's list which is a joke when they're an instate program

KSU & ku fans need to get a life.  I don’t get the point of KSU fans and ku fans bashing one another over recruiting.

If anybody on this forum has ever been recruited in any sport, they know there are many elements at play in the recruiting process

The coach tries to sell his philosophy and the program.

The athlete thinks about playing time, maybe TV exposure, personal ties to the university, relationships w/ a coaching staff, etc.  In many cases, academics is a factor

The whole point of recruiting a player is telling them what they want to hear.  Martin is telling Little that he will be an immediate impact at KSU, if Walker leaves next year.  If Walker needs another year, then Little will get a chance the following year.  If Martin can sell the KSU program to Little, then ku fan should not be surprised if Little commits to KSU.

History shows that many players have turned their back on the elite programs (ku, Duke, uk, NC, etc) to play for a non-traditional power.  Kevin Durant was recruited by some traditional powers, only to choose Texas.

Many fans around the nation were questioning the reason Beasley picked KSU.  What helped the KSU staff is the fact that a member of their staff had a relationship w/ Beasley for a number of years.  His decision was not based on the tradition of KSU basketball, its fans, or the national exposure that KSU bball receives yearly.  It was evident that Beasley wanted out of his commitment to KSU last year, when Huggins broke the hearts of KSU nation and left for WVU.

BTW KSU fan, Phillip McDonald is not the first player to not commit to ku, only to commit to a non-traditional power.  Nor will he be the last.  Jason Kidd and Harold Minor are 2 players that come mind.

It happens every year to every traditional power program.

Why would that sting?  My opening comment was fans of both ku and KSU need a life.  Most of the responses to that thread were irrelevant comments about ku.

As for Brown, KSU fans assume Brown is going to KSU when he is being heavily recruited by traditional powers.  I follow Big 12 recruiting, and I don't recall Brown giving KSU fans any reason to think he is a lock to choose KSU.  It is just wishful thinking.

As for putting the other KSU recruits in the same category as A Brown,  :blahblah:

waks, please learn to talk smack before posting.  Thanks.   :twobirds:

so let me get this straight - stud recruits in basketball are less likely to go to a powerhouse program than stud recruits in football?

 :flush:

or does it only work that way when a kid from an offer from ku goes to miss. st. or baylor?
