Probably because he cheated on his wife and ruined his family to get a BJ from a girl who was not all that attractive to begin with after he spent a couple of years talking about what a great family man he was.

He's in a moral outrage about ku Ned.  Basically, I guess Ned sent him an email making fun of Prince and his military march.  I don't know exactly what KSU did-I heard that they had Willie dressed up in a military uni or something.  Plus, I guess they had some soldiers in the stadium or something.

I'm sure Hox can explain exactly what they did better.

He was ranting on about someone who can't separate reality from college sports.  Coming from a tool like H2K,  that's rich.

And yeah, getting a hummer from someone not your wife when you have younger children at home kind of keeps your from being able to claim the moral high ground.

Does he know ku Ned?  Do we know ku Ned?  Does ku Ned even exist or is he a KSU fan?  If in fact Ned does exist did he even really send an email?

I mean if I had a radio show and wanted to say that Powercat Keitz emailed me and said that he wished they would have just shot Eric Washington in the head last year and put him out of his misery so they could get on with the game and that as a result all KSU fans are in favor of executing the handicapped what would stop me?  Who knows if the email even exist or not.

Why would he get outraged by an email like this.  Who cares?

Jack Harry has been funny lately, however. I heard him last week just needling Kevin about his hatred of ku. Kietz swallowed the bait whole, and turned it into a discussion of how media-biased this town is towards ku.

Funny, funny stuff.

Yes, ku Ned most definitely exists. If he doesn't, then Jayhox has been pulling quite the hoax on me every time I've met Ned. No, the email (or IM actually, DotteHawk...it wasn't one of the emails) in question doesn't "make fun" of the military. It made fun of KSU.

And that is pretty much my point.  Even if a guy calls in there is no proving he is not a plant or an opposing fan just trying to get a rise.  Keitz could just make up pretty much whatever he wanted.

Re: Oh, oh, Hox....

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

ku Ned exists and I have seen the e-mail.  Prior to Keitzman's interview with Pronce yestarday, ku Ned simply asked Keitzman if he was going to ask Prince about the goofy entry by the football team and whether or not Prince had another "new tradition" in store for this week.  (Power Towel, etc.)  In other words, why K-State used our fine military as a marketing ploy.  No disrepect at all for the military.  Actually, quite the opposite.  (If you have seen the video, you will understand.  Think of the STRIPES scene of the beginning of the late night marching practice.)

Keitzman, in his lunatic way, calls out ku Ned for disrespecting the military.  What a f#cking @sshole.

Prince had good intentions.  Of course he isn't evil incarnate.  But it was obvious from the video that he couldn't let his ego get out of the way and it made the entry look contrived and silly.

Re: Oh, oh, Hox....

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I can explain...

Yesterday when I heard Prince was going to be a guest on his show I sent an instant message asking if Kevin would ask Prince if K-State was going to implement another "New Tradition" after the Willie Chant, Power Towel and Military March.  Nothing else was said and I am disgusted that the guy would take my comments out of context.

Last week I sent the info on the Willie Chant to Nate Bukaty and copied KK.  Nate and St. John have been using the chant on their show for the past week.  KK and I had the following exchange:
ME
Nate,
You have got to do something with this on your show!  This makes "Blue Wings Rising" look like the work of a genius!

KK
Yeah, looks pretty hokey like this.  I'll wait to see it and hear it with 53,000 in house on October 6 and get back to you.  Fair enough?

Me
Sounds good, Hokey is watching on a computer. I think "embarrassing" should be your thoughts when you hear it with 42,000 in the hole.

KK
But that song they play in Lawrence and at Clemson the other night is different?  It's the exact same thing.

Me
I didn’t see a guy in a cat head and football uniform playing any guitars with their teeth.  I have think that the alumni will be holding their ears complaining, the students will join in because they are k-state students and that electric guitar riff is “really cool” and the opposing fans will be laughing hysterically.
What exactly is a “New Tradition”?

KK
I'm not sure what a new tradition is and I'm not sure that's even proper English.    But hey, we're k-staters!  We slur most of the words anyway because of all our missing teeth.

I do have a serious question.   If the last game Jim Wooldridge coached, KSU was zero on a scale to 10 and ku was a ten, where are we now?

The reason I ask is for the first time in 20 years, the two schools are competing for recruits.  We split 1-1 head to head a year ago and we are locked up on three guys right now.   Does that mean KSU is up or ku is down?   Or a combo of the two.  Curious to hear your thoughts.   I did notice that all three players are a notch below the Carolina's and Kentucky's of the world.  What do you make of it?

The kid in Texas will be interesting.  Keller? I think is his name.  He's going to midnight madness at ku but says it will take a miracle to get him off K-state.   That should be something to see how he decides.  The Fieldhouse, the tradition, the atmosphere, the excitement.  I hear his visiting Manhattan for the football game.  I hope we don't play that silly video.

Me
My first response to an inquiry about basketball during the second week of the college football season is that I think you have shown your cards as to your true feelings of the state of K-State football.  During the “Decade of Dominance” would you have ever posed this question?

Being listed on a recruit’s list is completely different than getting them signed.  K-State hit a home run with Beasley but they have one year to capitalize on it.  I personally think it is good that K-State is competing for players better than Manny Dies right now.  ku has huge hill to climb recruiting this year and who knows, the dominance in Manhattan may come to an end in the 2008-2009 as ku rebuilds.  My personal opinion is that Self may not go after the #1 or 2 player at each position but will instead try to find his kind of player to fill roles as he did at Illinois and go after one of the top guys when he has a chance.  I think the coming classes at ku will be filled with stronger guards that are interchangeable and thicker interior players.  I also think that the class signed by Self this year will be top 5 while K-State’s will be significantly lower.  With those statements on the table, I should state that I have not looked at a basketball recruiting site or even the ku basketball boards on the Phog or JayhawkSlant in probably 10 months.  I have friends that keep me up to date on football recruiting but I have a hard time getting that wrapped up in how an 18 year old kid plays a bunch of college coaches and the media.

Where do I think ku ranks on your scale of 1-10 right now?  Probably a 9.  They have been ranked in the top 10 continuously for the past three years and choked two of the three years in the tournament.  Last year’s loss to UCLA in the Great 8 should not be considered a choke job.  K-State is a 5 or 6.  As you mention over and over regarding Mark Mangino, how can you predict anything better than what has been accomplished in the recent past?  Just as KSU did for football when they bet the farm (literally) to turn the program around, they did the same thing going after Huggins.  It was a huge risk that burned them.  They did get Walker and Beasley but as I mentioned above, Martin better capitalize immediately on those two because they won’t be around next year.  After a huge loss on Huggins the K-State people then decided to go with a double or nothing bet on Martin.  We will see how it works out but I do not think Martin is a guy I would want to put that much on line with.

If you want to discuss things seriously, I have a few questions for you…

Do you think your hatred for Mark Mangino can ever let you look at the ku football team rationally?

Have you ever had a frank discussion with Stan Webber on his thoughts about Mangino?  It is my understanding that Webber is a big fan of the big guy and not such a fan of Scary Smart.

Can Josh Freeman win a close game?  You said on your show last week that K-State’s success will be based upon Freeman’s ability to hold onto the ball.  9 turnovers in the final two games last year against Rutgers and ku and two turnovers to lose the game at Auburn do not bode well for K-State’s season.

Can the K-State offensive line open a hole for a running play or protect Freeman long enough to throw anything other than a screen or lateral?

How many Big XII teams on K-State’s schedule will be as inept on offense as Auburn?  I think K-State will get burned often because their only chance on defense is blitz every down.

Do you truly believe that K-State’s football roster is that much better than ku?  You reference head-to-head basketball recruiting battles; ku is winning those battles right now in football in my opinion.  Right now I would take Watts on defense and Freeman as a tight end but other than that, I can’t say that I would definitively take anyone on K-State’s roster over what we have at ku. (maybe defensive end but I can’t think who that is at K-State right now).  ku needs to get a pass rush established and I think we will be OK on defense this year.

Me
One more serious queston… How is that moral victory against Auburn feeling right now?  South Florida should have won that game by 12 points if the kicker even knew where the goal post was.

KK
Some really excellent points sprinkled in with your usual stuff, thanks.

It's refreshing.  Let me first just say that you couldn't be more wrong about me hating Mangino.  I simply don't understand why everyone thinks I hate him.  His record is out there, he is what he is.  He's done nothing to me and I have zero reason to really hate anyone.   Life's too short.  It's funny, I get clobbered by listeners for either not being hard enough or being too hard on every single coach.   Too soft on Bell, Herm, Pinkel, Snyder, too hard on Prince, Mangino, Callahan.   Does it ever occur to anyone that I just say what I think?

Most think I'm too soft on Self.  Same school, how do you figure that?   I don't make many people happy, that's how it goes.

ME
What are your thoughts regarding the K-State-Auburn game after what Auburn did Saturday night.  I got back from the ku game in time to see most of the 4th quarter and overtime.  Auburn’s offense did not look any better than it did last week.

“Some really excellent points sprinkled in with your usual stuff, thanks.”
Believe it or not we are pretty similar.  We get our jabs in while having discussions.  As I told you when we first met when you were doing the Derrick Thomas show at the Adams Mark, I respect you for being a Wildcat.  I hope you know that I make my points in the spirit of the in-state rivalry.

I am extremely interested to know if you truly believe K-State is still on another level than ku from a talent standpoint.  The most shocking stat to me this year for ku football is that in two game there have been zero dropped balls by the receivers.  There have been incompletions but  no drops.  ku has never had a receiving corps with the hands that this team has.  Jake Sharp is legitimate and I think Reesing is extremely similar to Daniels at MU.

Can you honestly say that the talent level and games (won and lost) are similar than the Allen days?

Do you still believe K-State’s season will go with Freeman’s ability to hold onto the ball?

KK
K-state is not nearly as good as it used to be, Freeman is a turnover machine and I think Auburn, KSU, and S. Florida are all very similar type teams.   Good D... struggle on offense.   South Florida is, however, much better than a couple years ago.

Auburn QB is brutal.   Freeman has amazing flashes, but too many turnovers so far.  If he doesn't stop, they're in real trouble.

D is pretty good.  Haven't seen ku... but I'm told by NFL types that KSU has 4 or 5 players on D that will make rosters in the league.

I love the last bit from KK.  When in doubt on the talent discussion, throw in "NFL types."

Because, you know, having Brandon Jackson, who was loved by "NFL types," instead of Jon Cornish would have been much better for ku last year.

He doesn't want to have a conversation about the talent on the field because in the 39-20 trashing last season ku's players were faster and stronger, almost to a man.

How much money did H2K lose on the 2004 KSU vs. ku game.

Wasn't it something like $25,000?

can Freeman win close games?  See Texas and OSU.  "Turnover machine" = better Big 12 record than any ku QB, as a freshman!  :nutkick: (Now that's gotta hurt!)
