Robinson was pretty solid and respected playing for lousy teams. However, he chose to get married and didn't finish his degree (something about eloping with a KSU teacher's daughter I believe) - knew he couldn't come back to Manhattan and live in a mixed marriage.
Robinson was also targetted to be killed in a game (ku tried when KSU visited Lawrence for the game. Repeated cheap shots, eventually knocked unconcious by three guys away from the play late in the game).
I don't know where disrespecting a sports pioneer and a good KSUer is worth for fatty, but then again, ignorance is bliss for him. Maybe its the knowledge he would never have the sack to put his butt on the line like Robinson did.
