I disagree.  I feel it was a nice tribute.  I don't think football is war, it is a game.  Also, I am not a militarist, I am a patriot.  I know what war is and I know what military is about, I also know there are a whole hell of a lot of things bigger than football.

Ok, I was quoting myself.  I told him I was patriotic.  Whether or not me feeling that way is in your eyes (or anyone else's for that matter) patriotic doesn't really matter.  I liked the tribute we paid on Ft. Riley day, to the troops at the game by marching out of the tunnel to cadence.  I am patriotic, that is probably why I thought it was cool.  I hope this helps everyone understand but I am sure it probably won't.

Nope, I haven't.  But I've talked to enough people with first hand experience, and read/studied enough about the subject to be able to say that war is in fact a horrific and horrible experience.  That's not saying it's not necessary sometimes, but that it's not something a patriot should get goosebumps over.  War nostalgia is sick.

I do support honoring our troops though.  Completely.  I haven't spoken out against this whole entrance that happened.  Though I do believe there are better ways to honor than emulation.
