The Bears are 2-0 with wins over Missouri-Rolla and at UT-Martin. The Bears return 7 starters off of a 2-9 team that is predicted to finish last in the Gateway Conference. The same conference that produced Illinois State (who came into Manhattan and scared the daylights out of us last season).

QB Matt Krapfl has completed 59% of his passes so far in 2007 with 3 touchdowns and only 1 interception. He's not the greatest quarterback in the world but his job is to simply manage the game and minimize his mistakes. Something he has done a fine job doing so far this season.

RB's Gerald Davis and Kingjack Washington, especially Davis, carry the load for the offense. Davis has 193 yards (5.7 yards/carry) rushing and 5 touchdowns already. He had 4 touchdowns in the win over Missouri-Rolla. Washington has 140 yards on 19 carries (7.4 yards/carry).

WR's Eric Davis and Tamarkus McElvane form a formidable receiving duo. Davis is averaging 17.5 yards/catch with a touchdown and McElvane averages 35 yards/catch with two touchdown receptions.

The defense needs to show a big time improvement. The teams that they've played have both been able to be balanced offensively. Missouri-Rolla had 206 total yards (104 passing and 102 rushing) while UT-Martin racked up 542 total yards (339 passing and 203 rushing).

In no way should the Cats have any trouble moving the ball on this team so I expect the defense to be "mobbish" and I expect the offense to finally put up some HUGE numbers.

    Hey, basketball!!!

You saw the drop didn't you. Pierce did catch a ball on a planned screen but someone didn't get the block and Ernie was drilled right when he caught it.

I want too see both of their talent and not base it on one play.

FYI--rolla has won five games in the last seven years, I think.  I had a good buddy that played for rolla...I think he won 3 games in the 5 years he played.

Yeah Rolla = sucks.  Mo State will be push overs.  Some of you (dumb asses) will get to see that Coffman led offense you've been drooling after.

So maybe we'll score a whopping 40 points on these guys?

If we don't score at least 50, moral loss.

Missouri State averages a whopping 7.5 yards per play, and averaged 562.5 in its first two games.

Missouri State operates out of the no-huddle offense. Also, expect to see the Bears in the shotgun.

Key matchup

Missouri State punter Nathan Stokes vs. K-State returner Deon Murphy. If the Wildcats’ defense does its job, Stokes will be taking plenty of long snaps. That would mean the electrifying Mr. Murphy, who reeled off a 56-yarder a week ago, might have a shot at running wild on the Bears early and often.

I don't like the 37-13 pick. If we score less then 40 and give up double digits in points I'll be severely disappointed.

The spread offense crap drives me crazy...but it prepares us for the crap Mangino will be throwing at us.

MState will spread us out and playaction us to death. That's waht San Jose State did.

Why can't they just pull a Ball State and run up the middle on first and second then throw incomplete.  :ksu:
