It was an up and down effort for our Cats. There was some good and some bad. I wonder how much of that was an Auburn hangover?

Freeman had a decent game if it weren't for the interceptions. I thought both of those balls were under thrown. He was virtually flawless on the scoring drives though. He was 6-6 on the first touchdown drive for 88 yards and that was during a stretch when he was 8-8 for 106 yards overall. That's just the Freeman that we're going to have to get used to. We're going to have to take the bad with the good with the knowledge that there will be much more good then bad.

We finally found our running game. It wasn't consistent for the entire game but when it was good it was GREAT. J.J. proved himself to be the man with 111 yards on 15 carries (7.4 yards/carry) and a touchdown.

When it comes to the receiving corps I could talk about the usual suspects, Jordy Nelson, but I want to take the time to mention Deon Murphy. He had two brilliant touchdowns one on the pass from Freeman and the other on the reverse. He's going to provide many tremendous plays before his Wildcat career is over. It was great to see Jeron Mastrud and Michael Pooschke become such a big part of the offense. I love offense so the more weapons the better.

I didn't think the defense was as "mobbish" as it should have been. Yes we only gave up 14 points but there were alot of hidden yards in there. Their scoring drives went for a combined 128 yards but they had non scoring drives of 41 and 45 yards as well. I know we out gained them by 132 yards but with the performance we had at Auburn last week my standards have shot way up.

All in all.....It's another "W" and that's what really matters. Maybe it was an Auburn hangover and maybe it wasn't but I need to see a much more dominating performance next week before we head to Texas and I have no doubt that I will.

Bottomline, we need to stop all these bonehead penalties and be a more disciplined team. We need to force more TO's too. 1 TO forced in 2 games.

IIRC, we had two interceptions at AU.

I'm hoping we get to play plenty of subs against Mizzou State and get some players recovered from injury and back in action for UT. Actually, if some of them aren't ready for UT...I say don't force them in there and have them rested and ready for Kansas.

Baldwin and Cheatham are needed more than ever now that A. Moore is out. man that sucks.
