Oklahoma State is overrated. The Cowboys thought they were ready for center stage before losing 35-14 at Georgia. Give the Pokes an F.

Baylor also gets a failing grade for its 27-0 loss at tcu. You at least have to score to pass.

Let's give Colorado a B-minus for its exciting overtime win over Colorado State. New quarterback Cody Hawkins, the coach's son, looks like a keeper.

Texas gets a D for only beating Arkansas State by eight points. Come on, Horns, you're going to have to do better than that.

Missouri gets a C-minus for its 40-34 win over Illinois. Yes, the Tigers can score. But does anybody really think their defense can win a division championship?

Oklahoma and Texas A&M receive incompletes for blowout wins over North Texas and Montana State. Get back to me when you've played somebody.

Same for Nebraska. Rolling up a zillion yards against Nevada doesn't prove anything.

Kansas State gets a solid B for going on the road and nearly winning at Auburn. But the Wildcats should have won.

Gold stars go to Texas Tech and Kansas for the most impressive openers in the Big 12.

Tech could roll me out there to play quarterback and I'd pass for 300 yards. They would be short passes, but still....

And Kansas just kept scoring and scoring and scoring at home against Central Michigan, a team everyone expected to be good.

Everyone turned out to be wrong. Take nothing away from ku, but the fact that every player the Jayhawks put on the field offensively performed well indicates the Chippewas' defense is awful.

Still, Texas Tech and ku go to the head of the class.

Tyler Hughes would be proud.
