I think he can gameplan and coach in the moment (but, more on that later). I don't doubt that. It's going to be about how well he develops his players. This also extends to Prince keeping his coaching staff together year-in and year-out. If the '08 offseason is like the '07, this won't be a good thing. If Prince can't take criticism or isn't willing to allow the opinions of others, then he won't last. So, the jury is still deliberating those merits.
Now, as for the coaching in the moment, he failed against Auburn. He and his coaches let Freeman and the team down by not adjusting to the Auburn pass-rush in the 4th quarter. By not protecting Freeman after he was hurt, and by not helping Alesena out once it was apparent he was out of gas, the coaches displayed a level of either incompetence or arrogance that I found alarming. They either didn't recognize the problem and the danger it presented, or didn't care about the problem and the danger.
