oh, just 2004.  The 2003 MAC champs and 2004 pre-season favorite for MAC championship Toledo(http://media.www.cm-life.com/media/storage/paper906/news/2004/08/04/Sports/Toledo.Marshall.Picked.As.Preseason.Favorites-2494137.shtml?sourcedomain=www.cm-life.com&MIIHost=media.collegepublisher.com) rolling into Lawrence.

Quote
"For the first time in three years, Toledo begins its season with no questions at quarterback. Bruce Gradkowski returns after a splendid sophomore season in which he completed over 70 percent of his passes for 3,210 yards and 29 touchdowns. His top target, Lance Moore, returns after leading the nation with 8.6 receptions per game. The Rockets welcome back six other starters from an offense that averaged 32.4 points per game."

"Jayhawks offense explodes for 63-14 win": http://kuathletics.cstv.com/sports/m-footbl/recaps/091104aad.html

And Toledo at least returned a QB who is now in the NFL and started a number of games last year for Tampa Bay...and, oh, had the same head coach.

Central Michigan had a new first year head coach and lost some very key personnel.

2004 ku finished tied for dead last in the North and no bowl.

    The very best.
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

Miami(OH) was the 2003 MAC Champions.

Weren't we supposed to play Miami(OH) in 2003 instead of McNeese State?

my bad.  you are correct.  Toledo went 8-4 (6-2) in MAC in 2003.  Lost their division to Bowling Green.

The directional Michigan Schools lost by an average of 4 TD's to BCS conference schools this last weekend.

Let's wait and see what the ku fans say after Central Michigan's next two games against Toledo and Purdue...should be interesting.

Meanwhile, Auburn takes on a very good USF team...should give us all a nice barometer.

NO.

and you can hate ku...but you gotta give credit.... They thrashed CMU..and also, only gave up 7 points to an offense that was pretty productive last year. They can certainly play ball and have some speed here and there.

Iowa State and Baylor on the other hand are absolutely atrocious this year. Should be two wins for Kstate and every other team they face...'save Mizzou mayble ;)

I think Toledo won't hang in Lawrence.

Those are this stats, aren't they?  We basically win or lose on his play.  Now there are some things that affect his play, namely the performance of our o-line.  And in reality, only one of those TO's were really on him.  But still, he has to eliminate the TO's if we're going to win and if he doesn't, all we'll be left with is a kid who has all the tools to be a QB but isn't.

Honestly, if we were going to Lawrence this year I would be concerned.  Just because its hard to win on the road in the Big XII.  But since we have ku at home I'm going to say their is a very good chance we get the W.  For most teams its very difficult to win on the road, but for ku it seems to be damn near impossible.
