Nevada LB Jerome Johnson:

"That's the best offensive line I've ever played against," Johnson said. "And that's the only offensive line that stays on their blocks the whole time. They're very aggressive. I'm very aggressive, but I just couldn't get off (the blocks)."

Good to hear since those Boise State OL's are pretty good in their own right.

You just posted a quote from a Nevada player whose team is worse than last year.

So who would you trust.. a player from Nevada, or one from Auburn?

I just laugh at NU fans.

You sound just like Colorado fans did a year ago after nearly beating a piss poor Georgia team in the early season last year.

Except that we did much better than Colorado last year.  And Georgia wasn't that good.  Auburn is.

"If you think KSU's offense will look the same when we roll into lincoln ( ), I feel sorry for you.  Sure we weren't pretty at times, but Freeman and the line showed improvement, and there is plenty of reason to believe it can get better."

lol, showed improvement?  I guess freeman did though.  last year his qb rating had him dead last, after the first game he was dead 11th, so, the manhattan muscle has that going for him.  and his stats should be better now that prince won't let him throw a pass longer than 7 yards.

lol

auburn sucked donkey d*ck.  last year they were considered an average offensive team.  Then after the season and to play you they lost their o-line and top 2 rb's and ksu is now running around yelling da lynch mob is back baby, we took a sucky arse offense and held them to just enough points to get beat.  lol

NU fans are funny.

No mention of Keller at all.  Lots of downplaying Auburn.

All this game showed is that NU's deciding to play football in the second half is in no way indicative of a team that can play a complete 60 minutes.  KSU showed that in the first game.   I feel sorry for NU fans when reality comes to town (and KSU.)
At least it's going to be a hell of a ride.

That was pretty damn funny. You managed to lose to an overrated Auburn team that had a horrible offensive game. You can try to take credit for your defense playing a role on that, and it probably did to some degree. But it doesn't take much defense to shut down a high school offense.

If you honestly think you have a prayer of coming to Lincoln and winning, then you haven't been following along. Nevada is a pretty good team, and Nebraska just physically beat them down. We have great talent and great depth, and I doubt you guys are even capable of keeping it close.

On a positive note, with a couple more recruiting classes full of two-star prospects, maybe you'll improve... Or not.

You know, we said this last year after the Toledo game.  You know, a team that actually has a pulse on offense.

I might be seeing things, but I thought he just compared Toledo to Auburn.

See where KState got their defensive game plan from Nebraska...

"They were bringing five, six, seven," Tuberville said.  They obviously looked at Nebraska's game plan against us (from the 2007 Cotton Bowl) and they brought the house.

An Auburn offensive line with four new starters, including true freshman ORT Lee Ziemba and redshirt freshman ORG Mike Berry, had a difficult time making anything happen against Kansas State's relentless assault on the line of scrimmage.

Oh, and Auburn was without three defensive starters in the second half due to injuries.

"We knew it would be like that," Tuberville said. "We knew we'd struggle on offense with a young offensive line. We're very fortunate. We're very fortunate. We won it on pure guts."

An Auburn sportswriter said it best...

"on AU's final drive to take the lead, the best player they had on the field was the official."
"You guys want answers that are conversations between John and I. I ain't worried about it. I'm living the dream.... When I start worrying about a contract, I'd be cheating the kids and not doing my job." - Frank Martin

But I thought the mighty Callahan swapped game plans with Tuberville?  Wouldn't Slash know his own "D" enough to devise some sort of offense to counter it?  And wasn't Auburn going to be the ones hurting our players?  I noticed the article saying anything about our defense being without two starters for the entire game.  Nebraska fans, making themselves look even more desperate and pathetic, day by day.

K-State really needs to find a good rival.  Every year we talk about beating ku and Nu.  We go nuts if we beat Nu in football and ku in basketball.  Aggieville was packed at 3 in the afternoon when we beat ku in Lawrence.  Its great to beat those teams but its not really a rivalry.  ku-Mu and CU-Nu are rivalries.  Those schools hate each other and most importantly they have comparable programs.  ku-Mu are basketball schools with sorta up and coming football teams.  Nu and Cu are longtime football powerhouses with terrible basketball teams.  Ksu is a new football school with a up and coming basketball program.  I think good things are coming for ksu sports but I wish we had a true rivalry.  I have enough friend at ku and Nu to know that they don't really want to lose to Ksu but care so much more about MU and Cu.

ARE YOU JOKING? GOOD? At what? Come on now... if you base what you did to THAT team, you are in for a long season.  Can we win in Lincoln? We have in the past, but we'll see - I will make no predictions... BUT you can say what you want about AU's offense... but to deny that they are one of the top Defensive teams in the country is crazy and they didn't impress against us. I saw noteable improvement on offense in that game. If NU is all that GREAT - how is it that Nevada scored at all. I hope that you use Nevada as your benchmark for this season... it will make things that much easier.

To all the 14 year olds/special children:

Honestly we are not as good as Nebraska currently and we may not be for some time.  Yes ku is a joke to division 1 football and their coach consumes entirely too much food for anyone of the human race.  Regardless, at the end of the day until we win some games on a consistent basis (ignore Texas) I will continue to be a hater.  As much as I like our team a little wee bit of reality would be good.  Yes we looked amazing against Auburn but we have to beat up on the Baylor's of the world to be back.  All you sunshine pumpers need to get a freakin' reality check and understand that while we may be decent we have a long way to go.

that was a little harsh.  while i hardly think we are back to 1998 shape we are much closer to the 2003 version when we actually won the big 12.  we have a legit shot at winning the north this year and anything can happen in the championship game.  i agree that we struggle at being consistent and i actually think our offense currently sucks until i see otherwise.  we cant run the ball for crap.

that said our offensive line will improve every game, specifically alesana, and eventually i feel like freeman will throw some touchdown passes.

You know what? We werent as good as UT last year either... we aren't as good as MU or NU - as long as Pinkel and Calafraud are coaching, we can beat either one of those teams. I believe that it's not as much of a stretch at all to think that Prince can/will outcoach both of those idiots.
