This is a worthy topic of discussion.
All the talk about Missouri's offense but nobody seems to be addressing their defense. Eerily similar to Iowa State exactly a year ago, when they returned virtually their entire offense from the previous year. Remember the talk about their great, veteran offensive line, having their star running back return, the multiple wide receiver options available to a great, veteran quarterback.
Not only did the offense fizzle unexpectedly, they never did talk about their defense.
Incidentally, Missouri got beat by Iowa State last year because they couldn't stop the ISU running game. Nor did they stop Kansas or Oregon State. They weren't good and they lost six starters from a bad defense.
How many times have we seen teams with good offenses but no defense succeed? Can't score if you don't have the ball. Good as Mizzou's offense might be, they may not get many chances if they can't stop other teams.
