I was trying to do you a favor. Freeman is your most talented option. But any K-State fan who says they would be comfortable with a true freshman running their offense is smoking some serious Chiba.

Evridge was recruited to run the option at Nebraska. If you believe Callahan wanted him to play Quarterback I've got some Mountain Property to sell you south of Pratt.
Moereia or whatever the Hell his name is will not make a legit transition to the WCO, neither will Yamon Figurs.

You K-Staters are showing nothing but ignorance about the game of football. Your passing game under Snyder was designed soley to stretch the field, maintain a certain level of balance, but most notably to catch the defense off guard and shoot for the big play.

Wideouts like Moeriea and Figurs have loads of speed, but they've never been in a passing game as complex as the WCO. Dylan Meier and Evridge have never been involved in a passing game this complex as well.

Snyder's passing game was simple by college football standards. It was set up by the running game thru the QB's ability to sell the zone read, the counter, and the Speed Option. It was designed to catch the Safeties and DB's either napping or freeze them based on the QB's actions in the backfield. That's why guys like Michael Bishop, Beaseley and El Roberson had huge seasons throwing the football but couldn't translate to the NFL.

Dylan Meier and Alan Evridge have strong arms, they can throw the football downfield, but neither of them has the experience running an offense which sometimes asks for 5 progressions per pass play. Snyder's offense presented the Tight end over the middle, numerous outs and curls, and the vertical passing game on the edge.

The WCO, specifically the Green Bay version adopted by Franklin does utilize the vertical game, but that part of the offense is useless if the QB's and receivers cannot get on the same page for a Ball Control passing game. The degree of timing and accuracy needed to execute the WCO passing game is extaordinary. Can Figurs handle the bump at the line of scrimmage? Can Meier throw a 12 yard curl route between three defenders? Can Evridge find Nelson over the middle within three seconds, after his three previous options are covered? Can the o-line pass protect longer than anytime before under Snyder?

As for Josh Freeman, I was there in Manhattan for your Spring game, he looked great. He is your most talented option at QB, but he is a true freshman. KSU will definitely be in trouble if he starts, but it might make them better in the long run. He is indeed a legit QB, but let's not blow smoke up anyone's arse, he has a lot of maturing and learning to go through before he ends up leading KSU in the Big 12.

Btw, I am a Nebraska fan. You've branded me a biased K-State hater becuase of my Big Red Alliegience. However, I guarantee you, if Snyder was still around I'd give KSU a legit chance of winning the North next season.

I played small college football in Kansas. Our running backs coach was former KSU standout, JJ Smith. We ran Coach Snyder's offense verbatim. Even the terminology was the same. The offense was built around a mobile, dual-threat QB. It was a fun offense to play in, and as a tight end, I reaped the benefits of DB's who were caught looking into the backfield because they were scared to death of our QB. The passing game was designed to tear up big chunks of field position, and shoot for the end zone when the defense was expecting the run. It was a fun offense to play in, but it's not the WCO, not at all.

The WCO is a far more complex offense. KSU is going to make mistakes next season that kill them whether the talent is there or not.

I'm willing to give the coaches the benefit of the doubt. Franklin and Prince are widely respected around the coaching community, but some of KSU's other coaches are widely considered a joke, like Tim McCarty.

The Cats will be lucky to finish 5-6 next season. If Snyder was still around I'd say 8 maybe 9 wins would be likely.

No, and that's why I'm not buying this guys interpretation of the events.

Snyder's offense didn't include the wrinkles of a mobile QB until Bishop and then Snyder went major option because of it.
