Isn't it weird how our three best players (arguably) were walk-ons.

I've been surprised at how well RP's recruits have done so far. Hopefully this is a good thing that will continue.

if you're talking about starters who actually saw time on the field in games under Snyder...

Watts, Campbell, Walker, Bedore, Spexarth, and Nelson.

    The very best.
only 3/4 starters from the 05 team.
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

Even players that Snyder recruited were used, perhaps, more effectively under Prince.

Snyder was sometimes too damn loyal to the seniors and wouldn't let the underclassmen press them for pt.

I don't think Leon Patton would have gotten the nod over T. Clayton if Snyder was our coach last year...even after the Baylor debacle.

"Isn't it weird how our three best players (arguably) were walk-ons."

So are you arguing that Marcus Watts is one of the three best players, or that Marcus Watts was a walk-on?

Snyder sucked at the end.

I believe a more accurate description would be that Snyder's top assistant coaches sucked at that time.  In prior years he had always been able to hire outstanding assistants, especially defensive coordinators.

It's the Head Coach's responsibility to make his assistants run stairs when they don't perform.

Losing Beilma was killer, but yeah, assistants weren't good, they missed out on way too many kids esp qb.  Think about the fact that Lopina was the most highly touted recruit that they signed between 99(roberson) and 05 at qb.  No I don't count marc dunn.

Patton is a Snyder guy and I was told Johnson called KSU wanting to commit and the KSU staff told him to wait.

You are correct though, this largely Prince's guys.

Gonzo starting is a stark testament to the fact that Prince still has a ways to go to fill out this roster with D1A athletes.

How is a Grayshirt the same as a walk-on?  You are guaranteed a scholarship, you simply have to pay your own way for one semester.

I just realized this was about played and not committed/recruited by Snyder.  I am stoopid.

You aren't guaranteed a scholarship if you greyshirt, are you?
