Best player you don't know yet: Kansas State DE Rob Jackson

Jackson is overshadowed by Ian Campbell on his defense, but Jackson could finish the season as Kansas State's best defender. After his transfer from junior college, Jackson has steadily improved and was very effective at end of last season.

Ian Campbell is listed as the 2nd best linebacker and Tim Reyer is listed as the 4th best punter.

Christ. Looks like my leon patton propaganda isn't working.
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

I know, but still. I like the preseason hype. Remember how fun the 03 off-season was? We basically went message board to message board harassing everyone showing how big our dicks were.

Good times.

Mike Goodson's numbers are comparable to Leon Pattons...and Patton split carries with Johnson, just like Goodson did with Lane.

Watts and Campbell will be good (both white walk-ons!!!)...lol

Can someone honestly explain to me why Talib is so highly regarded?  The only ku games I watched last year were KSU and OK State.   We were injured and played terrible against ku, but Bowman gained over a fourth of his total yards on the season last year against them.  You could argue that if ku held Bowman to ~100 yds, he would be under 1K for the season and probably getting a lot less hype than he is now.  I also remember that Bobby Reid ran straight through Talib, pancaked him and dragged him ~7 yards into the endzone.

I know he's fast, and has a lot of pass break-ups (which also happens if you're thrown at a lot).  Seriously, is he really that good in coverage and can he tackle?

They got Watts as first team all conference, but not among the top 5 DBs.

Of course, they only listed CBs in their top five DBs.

And this is just the motivation Reyer needs.  When punters don't get their props they have huge seasons.  Big egos.

I agree with those rankings for the most part, though I'd move Keller to TE.

Incorrect.  He may be a little dirty like an OU player but he's good.

Nope...he's terrible.  He can't make a play in space to save his life because he is one of the most stiff players I have seen.  Oh...he impressed at the high school level where his lack of fluid athleticism was masked because he is fast and explosive leaper etc....but he's soft and stiff.  Quite a few longhorn fans started catching on to that last year.  The UT LB's were horribe in '06.
