Seems the evaluation on him was correct. Lazy. No work ethic. Unmotivated. Into "other" things. Doesn't look like football is real "high" on this guy's priority list. But I'm sure you'd rather have him than Asante.

    shame on you, non-believers
Interesting. A good friend of mine coaches at Coffeyville, and that wasn't his evaluation at all. In fact, he said K-State got a steal.

    Hey, basketball!!!
Trust me when I say this huskers: Chandler > Asante @ the safety position.

Sure, Asante is a better player than Chandler, but that's when he's at the LB position.

Honestly, good luck with that switch.

Wow...I didn't know our coaching staff had already written off the guy who is listed a starter on the two deep.

Like Freeman, they are just so bitter that Chandler didn't wanna be a Husker...... it's funny to see them cry.

Maxi's comments indicate 'proof' that this guy will be a good player.

Definitely a good player.

Keep obsessing.   You will see a great player when up  against the cornsuckers.

You don't know anything. Asante's position at Nebraska is basically where he's an extra LB because of his alignment. Trust me, Asante is making plays all over the field and he will be twice the player that Chandler is. Hell he already is. BTW, Roy Williams was a S that looked like a LB. And yes, this kid looks and plays like Roy Williams.

Asante practices with No. 1 defense

Safety Larry Asante was regarded as perhaps the top impact player in Nebraska's recruiting class last winter. He might be starting to live up to the billing.

Asante is playing with the No. 1 unit at strong safety. Defensive coordinator Kevin Cosgrove said the sophomore from Alexandria, Va., enjoyed his best day of practice Friday as Nebraska wore full pads for the first time.

According to Asante, Saturday was even better.

"I think I've been getting better every day," Asante said. "I felt real good out there in the scrimmage. I was flying around on my feet."

At 6-foot-1 and 220 pounds, Asante earned honorable-mention juco All-America honors last fall at Coffeyville (Kan.) CC.

"Larry is so diligent," safeties coach Bill Busch said. "He loves the game, and he's got passion for everything. If he's tired, he pushes through. He is a self starter. He doesn't need a coach to wind him. He's going when he gets out here. He's going when he gets up."

I know, I know. You guys long for the days of pasty white strong safeties and players like Willie Amos who couldn't hit water if he fell out of a boat. Sorry to inform you, Andrew Shanle and Blake Tiedtke have graduated. Try running up the middle this year and see what happens.

Jon McGraw and Marcus Watts were/are pretty good hitters.

Not sure what NU's problem is.

Asante practices with No. 1 defense

The sad state of NU's defense, anyone could probably play with the Number 1 defense and look like a star.

Max, please give more of your insider information on the rest of the KSU team.  I want to know what you think about how good we can be, and since you clearly have some insight on the practices and such, I would highly value anything you say.

Nothing like doing well against an offense starting an all freshman backfield.

Total defense rankings in big 12 games last season:

10.Iowa State..........  8  1414 1845  501  3259  6.5  33 407.4
11.Kansas..............  8   981 2303  569  3284  5.8  26 410.5
12.Baylor..............  8  1857 1767  564  3624  6.4  36 453.0

That is with a d-line with 4 senior starters 2 of which were first day draft picks.  And don't say we have Suh this year and he's better then what we had because he was playing equal snaps to the starters last year.  He's a stud but having Carriker, Moore, Cryer, Dagunduro and Suh is better then having just Suh and a bunch of ordinary guys.

Thanks for asking...he's working out fine.  We expect him to be a big contributor as soon as Watts teaches him how to play at K-State... and, yes, you're right, we would rather have him than Asante.

almost 400 yds per in the 8 conference games ......lol

Ah the BlackSKIRTS did put fear into this conf.

Maxwell sounds a lot like Blackskirts 98 on the other board.  In other words, they both think NU is a legit top 10 team with an unreal amount of talent at each and every position.
