from what I could gather..

1's - LT Alesana, LG Robinson, C Viers, RG Spexarth, RT Stringer
2's - LT Meyer, LG Handy, C Bedore, RG ?, RT Liu

Handy could have been #2 at either guard.  Not sure.

on the 2's I think it may be LG Benoit and RG Handy.

Oh well...I'm sure it changes routinely.

So much for the Freeman fat jokes. He looks like he's in pretty good shape.

How did the 3-4 look? How did Freeman and Coffman do? Is that your starting offense in the picture, or is Prince still mixing the first and second teams up like he did in the spring game?

How does Bedore go from being almost a sure lock at C and getting rave reviews from Ron to running with the 2's and fighting for a spot against a guy who basically started playing o-line one year ago and center about 1 week ago?  I know it was just practice, but at some point we have to pick a line and go with it.  We can't expect the o-line to perform well as a unit if we're playing musical chairs constantly.

There is this thing called competition that is welcomed by coaches who want successful teams.  That may or may not have something to do w/ it.

Other than that...could be something to do w/ Bedore's susceptibility or more prone to heat stroke if you recall from a few year's back.

It also might have something to do w/ Bedore not passing the PUP test initially.  I'm sure there are certain players on the team Prince finds this test to be more serious towards...

Bedore did check in at 308 vs. 297 in the Spring.  I don't know if that means anything but it might.

If you weigh all of the factors there might be something to any of these things mentioned...who knows.

and it might just be that the coaches REALLY like Viers which I know to be true.

So if Viers is the flavor of the month, then why not put Bedore at guard over Logan?  I mean, if they're serious about Viers at center, which they appear to be, then they need to put a talented kid like Bedore somewhere on the line.  I understand competition, that's fine, but we've got 3 weeks until the opener and it appears we don't have a starting 5, and considering that only 1 guy on the two deep you listed are "new" (or rather wasn't in spring ball) the coaches should have a better idea by now.

relax.  I'm fairly confident Prince has done this before.  Seriously.  I started off a bit sarcastic in the previous post because I'm not sure why we're questioning what is taking place.  We really don't know a reason for why Bedore was not working 1's or not guard or whatever.  But me thinks Prince might know what line up he needs to put on the field to work together.

And, yes, Bedore to guard might very well be that option.  This has been proposed since last spring.

I think the main reason we see Viers at center...they LOVE his agility...it's so very important in Prince's particular schemes w/ a lot of stretch running plays and the center is either pulling or getting to the offside LB.  The quicker/more athletic the center...the better.

zacker,
Part of me thinks that even though Viers is thought of highly of our coaches that a message is being sent to Bedore.  The media seems to have put Bedore in the starter's spot at center despite coming in a little big (manhatter, I have a good source that he didn't add muscle mass unless he has some abnormally shaped abdominal muscles that extend circumferentially).  Maybe Bedore got a little complacent and a somewhat public display that says you aren't guaranteed a starter and I need to see more out of you.
