BMW said that KSU would be in trouble if Jordy is our #1 receiver.  That Henry, Herford, and Fields were all better.  He said each would be first team at KSU not to mention Briscoe.  True story.

There's really no argument for K-State fans.  If Jordy Nelson is your best threat at WR, you're in for a tough year.

Henry, Herford, and Fields would all be the #1 WR on the depth chart at K-State.

well...some fact finding occured and here are the results.

Career numbers for Henry, Fields, and Herford COMBINED (Henry 3 seasons, Fields and Herford 2 seasons each)

110 catches for 1,255 yards and 10 TD's

Jordy's career #'s and in just 2 seasons..one of which he was crippled last year on a bad knee

84 catches for 1,216 yards and 9 TD's

Yep...Jordy has just 39 fewer yards and one less TD in 2 seasons vs. the 7 combined seasons of the receivers whom BMW declares are all better than Jordy.

Do I need to repeat anything?

Good.

Also...longest reception by any of the 3 in 7 combined seasons?  It's 35 yards and that didn't even go for a TD.  Jordy has 3 TD's of 74 yards or longer in Big 12 play alone.  He's got plenty more big gainers in addition.

The other hilarious comment?  BMW said Briscoe is better than Lamark...and had better offers.  LOL.

I can't wait to hear what he comes up w/ next.

thank you and good night.

the best part about his stuff about Briscoe...Briscoe is a good player but he's one of those kids a few were coming in at the end trying to pick up late.  He's not a headliner.

The article in the St. Louis Post told us everything we wanted to know about Lamark's recruitment...big guns like Tennessee were coming in and trying to talk him into opening up his recruitment and he told them no.

LOL at BMW.

I do think Briscoe looks like a good one and who knows...maybe he will outperform Lamark in college.  But let's stop being stupid for now.

Wow... where to start?

First of all, career stats are irrelevant to this discussion.  We're talking about a new season here.  No one cares what Jordy Nelson did two years ago when he was at full health.  There's no guarantee that Nelson will be the receiver he once was.

Fields, Herford, and Henry, on the other hand, are all practicing at 100% and have an added year of experience.  By the way, Herford has only been playing WR for two years now.  Last season was his first year at WR (he started out at QB).  Also, Fields didn't play as a RS-FR until the last game of the year when he scored on a 15 yard TD pass against Iowa State.  Henry is the only WR out of that group with more than one year of experience.

Let's take a look at some more facts.

Dexton Fields:

2006 stats: 45 rec, 455 yards, 5 TD
Best game: @Nebraska - 8 rec, 108 yards

Jordy Nelson

2006 stats: 39 rec, 547 yards, 1 TD
Best game: @Colorado - 5 rec, 117 yards, TD

Even if you want to look at last season, you can see here that Dexton Fields was able to get in the endzone five times, compared to only once for Jordy Nelson.  I will give you that Herford would not start over a healthy Jordy Nelson, but Marcus Henry has been impressive all spring/summer.  He's every bit of 6'4 and is in the best shape of his life right now.  Look for him to have a breakout year next season.

The other hilarious comment?  BMW said Briscoe is better than Lamark...and had better offers.  LOL.

I never stated that Dezmon Briscoe was better than Lamark Brown.  He played against better high school competition and had better offers.  I don't think we need to argue that 5A Texas football is better than anything in St. Louis.  As for the offers, take a look for yourself:

*per Rivals

Lamark Brown:

K-State
Mizzou
Nebraska
Indiana
Kansas
Arkansas

Dezmon Briscoe:

Iowa
tcu
Oklahoma State
Boise State
Kansas
Mizzou

Both had offers from ku and Mizzou.  Brown's best offer was from Nebraska.  Briscoe's best offer was from Iowa.  Iowa has had more success over the last few years, while Nebraska has the better tradition.

tcu = Arkansas, Boise State = Fiesta Bowl Champs, Oklahoma State > Indiana

You mean the true freshman who had 2 INT's and a TD against K-State last year?

Yeah... believe it or not, football players use the offseason to improve and get better.  Henry had 6 rec, 150 yards, and 3 TD's in ku's Spring Game on receptions of 56, 29, and 38 yards.   He's just a big target out there and finally has the confidence and experience to be an impact player at ku next season.

I'm thinking BMW may be retarded, so I might have to take it easy on him.  If he's not retarded and actually takes his name from a car he either drives or would like to drive...well then he's pretty close to retarded.

Where to start?  Ummmm....tcu is not equal to Arkansas.  That's maybe the dumbest thing I've ever seen.  tcu has a fine program, but in the WAC or whatever crap conference they're in it's much easier to have that perception.  You see Arkansas is in the SEC and they won the SEC West last year over teams like Auburn, LSU and Alabama.  Pretty big difference Princess.  If you'd like to make a comparison, how about Iowa State and tcu.  They played a great bowl game a couple years back and that's somewhat sane.

As for the offseason, you know what people also do in addition to getting better?  They heal up!  You see Jordy was healthy enough to play, but not to play even near completely healthy.  Didn't help much when 2 of our top 3 receivers where out and the other was a tad gimpy.  I'm not going to use it as an excuse for ku winning a game vs. KSU....but that's because I'm trying to be retarded to talk to you man to man.

A word to the stupid (that means you BMW).  Don't post stats that don't prove your point.  Basically you illustrated how an injured Jordy Nelson was better than a healthy a healthy Dexton Fields.  Jordy appears to be more athletic injured by averaging more yards per catch (and net yards for the season) injured than Fields did healthy.  Fields did have more TD's...which is nice, but Jordy was injured and had just two less in a single season (his Soph year) than the career combined totals of those you mentioned.  It's pretty funny stuff and you should really check out reality sometime.

Nebraska did not offer Brown as a receiver.

LOL.  You don't know that.  Lamark never commented about what position Nebraska offered him to play.  Nebraska fans came up w/ a 1,000 reasons why Lamark selected KSU over Nebraska.

It wasn't so he could play receiver there big guy.  Some kids just don't like Nebraska and would rather go to KSU.

still no link.  LOL.  Again, you don't know...it's mere speculation by corn to understand how and why he didn't want to go to Nubb.

and LOL at your "too bad he's playing out of position"....

ESPN scout take which is God per Corn...

Evaluation: This kid is a load as a safety and running back, but he could end up at either outside linebacker or wide receiver as well at the next level. He has tremendous size, strength and speed. He is not a natural running back, but they want the ball in his hands as often as possible. Shows very good power at the point of attack and will run through defenders that don?t break down and wrap up. Shows good initial burst and enough of a second-gear for a bigger back. He has impressive body control and will be able to plant-and-pivot quickly enough to hit the cutback lane. On defense, he is at his best defending the run. Fills hard from the high point and takes decent angles in pursuit. Has room to improve as a tackler, but shows good power and is adequate at wrapping up in space. He has the size and strength to match up ?in the box?. Does a good job of using his hands to sift through traffic. Pursuit speed is impressive. He also has very good ball skills in coverage. Shows adequate range underneath and has the speed to improve his range with more experience and better diagnostic skills. Overall, Brown is rangy and athletic and you take him regardless of knowing where he is going to play. Impressive prospect.

bada bing!!

Wow... where to start?

First of all, career stats are irrelevant to this discussion.  We're talking about a new season here.

So when assessing the value of returning starters....past statistics are irrelevant?

Okay, then I think Cedric Wilson is better than anyone ku has because I just think so. End of discussion.

So stats from a previous season aren't relevant when assessing returning starters...but you just rattled off a bunch of them in your SPRING SCRIMMAGE to show us how much he's improved.

Got damn you are the worst poster I've ever seen on this board.

Let me get this straight:

-Jordy won't be the receiver he once due to his injury, but Deadbeat Daddy is going to be All Big 12 after his injury.

- a player's career stats aren't an indicator of a player's ability.

Got it.
