Nebraska makes the "stars don't matter" argument have so much more weight.

So? Players don't work out in every class, for every school in the country. Hell, Oklahoma's class led by the #1 QB in the nation from Louisiana fell apart. USC has half of every recruiting class they bring in never pan out. As long as you're recruiting great players in every class like we do, no harm no foul. We're set to dominate the North and compete for BCS bowl games for as long as Callahan stays here. Bet you wish you could say the same.

No, Max, in fact we very thankful that we can't say "for as long as Callahan is here".

You can have him.  Keep him for as long as you like.

and yet 17 players  with an average star ranking of 3.5 stars per athlete never left the team.  How good was your class that year?  lol

they are on campus now..you can quit talking about stars.  Believe it or not they are not based on performance. And so far not so good for Nubb.

I think it's been a good class so far, with even more yet to come. You have to remember that the freshmen in that class are just hitting their junior years in the 2007 season. Thus, the following players are all probably are going to start or have significant playing time this year out of that class...

Zackary Bowman, Chris Brooks, Phillip Dillard, Cody Glenn, Frantz Hardy, David Harvey, Jacob Hickman, Marlon Lucky, Steve Octavien, Zach Potter, Matt Slauson, Ndamukong Suh, Barry Turner, and Bryan Wilson

Furthermore, the following players already contributed greatly...

Zac Taylor, Zackary Bowman, Jordan Congdon, Ola Dagunduro, Barry Cryer, Cody Glenn, Frantz Hardy, Marlon Lucky, Matt Slauson, Ndamukong Suh, and Barry Turner (Octavien has been good, but rarely healthy)

Really, I think it's been a very good class, with more promise for the future still. You don't rate classes by saying that anyone who didn't turn into a star or play a ton in their first two years is a bust. That's ridiculous.

I love how Nubb fans start pointing to the 2003 OU class when we point out that with the exception of the boy named Suh there 2005 class is pretty damned average.  In fact, other than Suh (who I might add is a work in progress with huge potential) your blue chippers have either quit, transferred, sat on the bench, got hurt or not come close to the Nubb fan's expectations.  For all you star watchers, go look at how the crop of 4 and 5 star talent has done.

The big difference between OU's 2003 class and Nubb's 2005 class is we didn't have a group of Corky's running wild on everyone else's message boards, pounding their puds everytime a new commit with lots of stars chose OU.  No it was an endless stream of HI "articles" about what Harrison Beck got for Christmas and how thick Craig Roark's pork chops where when the coaches ate at his house.  Complete obsession from a starved and desperate fanbase.  Absolutely pathetic and completely common these days from Nebraska fans (see 2006, 2007 and current recruiting for verification).

Even funnier is how the "well they're only Jr.'s" argument comes out, yet you retards seem to think you can judge KSU's class prior to them hitting the field.  The class Prince put together in two months performed exceptionally well last year as most freshman saw the field and KSU improved to the point of getting to a bowl game.

Just keep lobbying for those recruiting stars...because you're going to find recruiting season will remain the bright spot for your once proud program.  Bill Callahan's recruiting prowess and coaching limitations will see to that. :loly:

Good post. It's only been two years, and many of those guys have already panned out and many other still have time.

The difference is that K-State's recruiting is so bad, that no one is expected to do anything, then if anyone does it's just a pleasant surprise.

So did your program start handing out cash and cars, after the 2003 class or before? Oh wait, I think there were 7 NCAA probations previously. Must be real proud to be a Sooner.

Callahan should be getting the axe in Lincoln soon and we should offer him the recruiting coordinator job.  I respect the talent he brings in.  Can you imagine him recruiting talent for Prince to educate and coach.  Amazing potential there.

Actually, Callahan should be getting an extension this year. They understood how difficult it was going to be to overhaul the offense, so he's not in any trouble with his bosses. And our fans are really excited about this year and happy with Callahan too.

He needs to get us back into the rankings and drop some top teams, but everyone is really happy with our coaching staff right now except for the few guys that can't move past Solich.

It has been amusing to watch our resident trolls attempt to identify novembereleven's allegiance.  I think he's been incorrectly labelled at least three times now.  Keep guessing, guys!

I thought he was a KSU fan... and November 11 is to show respect for KSU's ass whoop'n of #4 Texas that took place on Saturday November 11th of last year. As well as the 2000 ass whoop'n of #4 Nebraska

We're actually going to line Octo up as a speed rusher in some packages. He's an unbelievable athlete that has just struggled with injuries. He's healthy now though, and ready for a breakout season. I wonder how many times he'll be able to take down Freeman in Lincoln? I can't wait for that game, it should be a fun one for Husker fans.
