that this playa: http://www.houstontexans.com/tv/index.asp?mm_file_id=1575&play_clip=Y

and TNew were actually our 2nd string in '00.

 :'(

the good news is I think our talent and depth at corner are as good as the early 2000's.

Hatter, you seriously think this:

Butler, Carter, Newman, Faggins is close to = Moore, Baldwin, Garvin, McKinney, Cheatham???

I agree that with Moore & Baldwin starting at the CB spots it's the best duo since 2001.

i've loved our corners dating back to the thomas randolph days

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

what I meant to say is that I think our talent and depth is as good as it's been since the early '00's.

No, I don't think our group this year is as good as '00...of course not.

But it's as good as '02 and certainly better than '03.  Don't get me started on '04.

Do you disagree?  We're pretty damn good w/ Baldwin and Moore out there...best starting duo since '02 IMO.  And the depth is better than it's been in 5 years.

I was looking through the rosters of '02 and '03...after the frontline starters and two deep at just a few positions we had a lot of scrubs on those teams.  You have to go back to late 90's and '00 to see the waves of talent.

look at the LB depth after TNT's in '02  :ohno:
corners beyond the average starters in '03 were terrible.

Some will be smug w/ the comment but the overall talent level for KSU at this moment is certainly better than '04-'06 and getting back to those '02-'03 teams.  It's certainly not on par w/ late 90's but I would say we have more talent in a few areas than some of those late 90's teams.

I definately agree. We were very lucky in '02 & '03 for no injuries to the defensive starters. Lots of talent on the 1st string those two years, but got a big ? on the 2nd string and beyond. Very lucky with the TNT's all staying healthy the one year that they played together too. If there were some key injuries to the first string D in '02, we definately wouldn't have been close to 11-2. Just didn't have the talent to come in & be ready for first string.

And I'd say we that we haven't had this much talent and depth at CB since 2001. The 2002 CB's were not very deep after Newman & Jordan, and I agree with the 2003. Cedric & Randy were good but nothing spectacular and there was nothing after those two. Just see 2004.

And 2002 CB's > 2003 CB's       Only because Newman & Jordan better than Williams & Jordan. There was basically nothing after those two in '02 & '03.

Once Venables, Stoops, Mangino, etc... left town our recruiting really went down hill.  We just couldn't bring in anything near what we were with the revolving door at most of the assistant spots.

There's no question on the depth.  I really struggle to think of a time when we had better quality depth.

Faggins and Newman had the potential, but weren't dominant for the full 2000 season.  Tyler was the first CB off the bench that season.

For once I'm not cringing about our DBs if we have to defend the spread.
