I will still be very excited if we miss out on Mayo and Walker but land Beasley and Pope.  I think we could even be better. I am not sold on Mayo's attitude, granted i would love to have him. If we have too many studs, isn't it a possibility that they could clash?? I like Walker and if ya throw him with Pope and Beasley, that is awesome, throw in Mayo its sick. Without them it is still good. I saw the post earlier that Martin said, Young, Hoskins, Pope, Beasley, and Bennett...that is a very scary lineup....if one of those guys emerged as a leader then we are still talking national championship.  So bring Mayo and Walker, if they opt for LA then i still feel we will be in pretty good shape.  Either or, it is better then where KSU has been for a few years!

What are you all's thoughts on Mayo/Walker? I have a feeling that Cincy is still in the mix for them, esp. Walker, thats just my hunch on things and usually my hunch is pretty accurate, we will have to see though.

    The very best.
We just need to get them to visit.

We'll be "fine" without them...but I want to be more than "fine"
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

It's still pretty early.   Huggins isn't done recruiting yet.

You can't be racist and like basketball.
If we don't get Beasley, Walker, Mayo, Love, and Pope I'm jumping off a bridge.

If we only get 4 out of the 5 would you consider just throwing yourself down a stairwell?

Where's a tall one in Manhattan?   Besides the one next to the Town Center?

I'm telling you, this is not ANYTHING like the team from the beginning of conference play. You will see no more blowouts like what happened in OOC.  If we lose, it will not because these kids gave up, and it will be at the buzzer. -Rodless, before 97-70

Back on subject...Huggins kicks ass and would continue kicking ass with or without these guys.  Without all of them, we'll be fine.  But like fatty said, I want to be "more than fine".

I think we still get them.   Young kids in school, especially, ones with ego's like Mayo, are always trying to garner attention, along with the asswipes that follow them around.  Huggins will close the deal with them.

Someone with as big an ego as Mayo would just as likely take the shoe deal. Money + Large corporation giving attention + Fame of being paid to wear that corporations shoe = Large ego feed.

That's true.

However, I don't think this will be the case.   OJ's guardian has some influence and I'm sure Huggins is keeping the lines open and the discussions going.

And I thought there was a quote where Mayo said he doesn't like Manhappenin.

Huggs will not allow him to go to SC.

Basically everything about recruiting is rumor til they sign the LOI.

And Jeffrey Martin believes it.

we need beasley to talk to them more often.

i just don't see mayo and walker throwing away a 6 year relationship with huggins to go somewhere they have no connections with.

I'm just curious how bad Mayo's attitude is.  I don't want to see him come here and do what Clarett did to the Buckeye football team, with the exception of winning a title.

Realistically we will probably get 2 or 3 at the most of these Top 10 kids, but I'm fairly certain we'll get at least 1.  I'll get blasted, but it might be "fine" to only get a pair of them.  There are only so many egos a team can handle.  Granted, I think Huggins is a great coach and will handle it well no matter what happens, but its hard to say how many players of that caliber a team can handle and it would simply be very difficult to keep that many guys of that caliber happy.

Frankly, if we get a pair of those guys, say Beasley and Pope, then a couple more Top 100 guys like Miles and Stewart, then a couple guys outside the Top 100 like Jackson and Reed, then I think we'll be in great shape.
