never said anything about "starting" but I believe it's highly likely he could play this year.

To be realistic..he needs to get a lot stronger and add good bulk.  But he has things Prince wants on his OL...ability to pass block and move out laterally on those stretch plays.  We'll see..Prince played a lot of true freshman on the OL at Virginia.

If Aufner starts this will be another fun-filled laugh of what the hell are we doing. Not that it's dissapointing, but more like a miracle occuring. Heck when we almost lose to Illinois State, to beating Texas it says we have a coach. I would rather see improvement throughout the year and end up in the texas bowl, then us going unbeatan and losing the big 12 championship game and going to the alamo bowl. College football is the best sport b/c we are always surprised.
For example
texas game 06'  why, because the abc crew laugh at us when saunders ask, "what is the chance ksu wins."
ou game 07'      ou team supposedly the greatest team to ever play college football.
nu game 98'      We had not beat the huskers in 30 + years.

Thank god for the miracle in manhattan.

Ben Liu probably wins it.   Jmart mentions Stringer and Spex looking good.

Aufner was pretty highly recruited.

I like Aufner but if he plays it's a bad sign.  I would think the JC guys we brought in are the newcomers they intend to play right away ie Alesana, Liu, Benoit etc.  The film I saw of Aufner you could see his athletic ability but you could also see he had a lot to learn technique wise.  Played way too high and wasn't nearly physical enough for the big 12.  I would hope out of guys like Stringer, Meyer, Unruh, Alesana, Spexarth, Liu etc we could find enough guys at tackle not to have to throw Aufner in there.  Prince might pull his shirt because he seems to be kind of reckless with that like pulling Viers last year for one game of mop up duty but I doubt he sees signifigant snaps.
