Sorry but the end of that game was total BS.  No way a jumpball should have been called.  They were all over Nash and 95 percent of the time, they call that a foul in that situation.

Lakers might win the series but they still are not that good and Kobe is still not the Most Valuable Player.

Nash turns the ball over in regulation which leads to OT. Kobe hits a game winning OT shot with no time on the clock.

They got the MVP right... :jerkoff:

I remember the Lakers leading the 2-0 in the first round back when Westphal coached the Suns.  Suns had KJ and Barkley.  The Suns came back to win the series.

And I don't really care who the MVP is.

Your debating skills always boil down to:  "Because I say so."

This may work with your kids, but it is a really silly and desperate way to go about arguing things in lfe.

Is he or is he not the MVP?

LMK.

IIRC the Lakers lead 3-0 in the first round.  Westphal said "We will come back and win the series" or something to that effect.  They had KJ, Barkley, Marlje, Ainge...I think they eventually lost to the Bulls in the finals.

So because Nash got mugged and no foul was called and Kobe hits the game winner.... Kobe is more deserving???  :blahblah:

Nash has Marion. Kobe has Odom.  No one else on either team this year is that great by themselves.  Nash's team finished 2nd.  Kobe's 7th.    Who is the regular season MVP again????

Nash= Makes guys like Bell, Diaw, etc look like studs at times.
Kobe = Scores 35 a game and team barely makes the playoffs.

I am still waiting for Kobe to lead his team (like Nash did) to a 1 and 2 seed w/o the Shaq Daddy.  11th best in the West last year and 7th this year.  Does not sound like a MVP.

You can't be racist and like basketball.
If Kobe played the regular season like he has the last 3, he's the MVP.  He miraculously realized he has teamates who can catch passes.

I think Marion is better than Odom, but not by a long ways.  Odom has ave 15 pts and 9.7 reb the past 2 years with LA.  Marion's stats would probably be similar to that if he had to play with Mr Ballhog.

Like I said, 7th place and 11th place in your own conference = NO MVP Status.
Leading your team to the 4th best record w/o a top 10 player in Stoudamire = MVP

Case closed.

Maybe Odom's stats are boosted by the fact that the #3 scoring threat on the Lakers is named Smush...

after seeing nash make two poor plays tonight at the most crucial point in the game, one of which was a terrible decision to take the ball down the sideline, it seems clearer than ever that not only is kobe bryant a much better player than nash but that nash is the most laughable candidate for a repeat MVP ever.  he never should have won last year and he certainly shouldnt win this year.  is he any better of a point guard than jason kidd is/was, or john stockton? cmon.  that said i think lebron should win the mvp and not kobe only b/c kobes team sucks and yet they are still going to beat nash's suns.

Phoenix wins 29 games in 03-04 with Marion, Stoudamire and Joe Johnson on the team. They sign Nash and win 62 games last year.  I think he was clearly the MVP last year.  This year, I would not have been surprised if someone else won it.... just not Kobe.

I hate kobe the person, there is little doubt in my mind that he raped that girl in CO.  Go read his interview with the cops on thesmokinggun.com

But Kobe the player is the most dominant, spectacular phenom that we've seen in quite some time leading a horrific collection of "talent" to the second round of the playoffs.

Kobe is the most selfish player in the NBA.  He is not a team player.  That doesn't help his case for MVP.  The idea that the Lakers have no other players with any offensive game whatsoever is a complete myth perpetuated by sports reporters.  I don't know why so many people buy it.  It will never be the case that one player on a team has to do things like try to score 80 points in one game because everyone else on the team sucks that bad.
