Man, I hate Modest Mouse. One sound...how many songs? About as creative and musically diverse as Nickelback. Float On was great, for a month or two, but I started getting pissed off when every other song of theirs that I heard had the same chord progressions.
Leyton
almost described the concert to a T.
The opened with "Bury Me With It", did a f*cking awesome job, and I thought, "damn, they might convert me". Then they played Float On. Fifteen goddam times in a row. They played Float On with a banjo, slow Float On, Float On with a cello, Float On with an extended solo, Float On with an accordian, "hard rock" Float On, Float On with a trumpet, then did an encore with an extended version of Float On.
I really don't understand how they sold so many tickets...they aren't "edgy" enough any more to bring out the music purists, but they still seem too rough around the edges to appeal to the Dragon Shirt crowd.
Side Note: I swear I saw BMW. He was wearing Khaki shorts, no shirt, and some kind of shark tooth necklace. Him and his boyz took about 30 pictures during the encore (in the middle of the crowd) (LOL).
