Once Gabbert switches his commitment to Mizzou the Huskers are going to start telling us that he sucks and he would have been converted into a tightend. Just wait, it will happen.

Woohoo!  We have a winner for the "Delusional Husker of the Year" Award!  Congrats!

Let's see, where to start?

It's neato to play the victim, but Zack Bowman isn't the route to much victim success.  Why?  Well, his first year at Nubb he started just 5 games.  Get it?  You see he wasn't good enough to start until late in the year.  One guy (even with 5 stars given to him by journalism majors), who is sitting for the likes of Tierre Green and Cortney Grixby is NOT worth even a single win.  Get over it!

Despite the fact I just crushed your retarded argument, let's take it one step further.  Without the amazing (recruit) Zack Bowman, it wasn't Adarius Bowman that beat you idiots in Stillwater.  Hell, AB wasn't even the leading receiver that day (in either catches or yards), D'Jaun Woods was.  Perhaps your argument would be better if it was "if only Dick Butkus wasn't old and an Illinois grad we'd have won."  You see stopping the run would have helped quite a bit. Dantrell Savage had 117 yards, 2 TD's and 6.9 ypc average.  Keith Tosten had 8 carries for 8.5 ypc average and Bobby Reid added 8 carries for a 7.6 ypc average.  Of course the best place to look is Bill Schnellahan who divided up carries between Brandon Jackson, who was dominating, with a couple of guys who were sucking.  Great job of coaching as usual.

In the OU game it might have helped of "Woman Beater" Purify didn't fumble inside the 10 yard line.  Maybe you think Zack Bowman could have played QB?  He probably could have done as well as Zac Taylor did with his 3 interception performance.

Texas, would Bowman have held onto the ball at the end of the game?

USC...you are kidding obviously.

Better luck next time.

Actually you're wrong again Mr "I think I know what goes on at Nebraska but really don't." Bowman would have started very soon in 2005 but he injured his foot and was never healthy until the final 3 games of the year. He didn't even play against Texas Tech. He also wasn't here for spring football which is vitally important because that's when the schemes for the upcoming year get put in. So once again, your oven is on high but nothing is cooking. When Bowman got healthy he played his best game-including the Michigan game where he helped shut down arguably the best group of receivers in the country. There's a reason Zac Bowman was the #1 senior CB on last year's draft board-because he's a 6'2 lockdown corner that runs a sub 4.4, 40. His loss last year changed the entire plan for the defense and what they wanted to do last year. When he tears Jordy Nelson's head off this year, don't say I didn't tell you so.

Whether he did or not is really immaterial to the Huskers.  I remember distinctly, last year, that Taylor was going to lead the Sker's to  the Big 12 Championship and a BCS bowl.   There was even talk at the beginning of the year that NU was coming to Phoenix and a lot of sker's bought NC game tickets...

Then.. the roofed caved in.

Ah well, there's always next year in your quest to return to dominance.

BTW: What's the over/under that Keller gets injured again?

Says the KSU fan who picked KSU to go 11-1 last year.

Gannon developed into a stud under Gruden, earning 3 Pro-Bowls while with Gruden including becoming the first and only player to win back to back Pro-Bowl MVPs.

And the year he was NFL MVP was the same year he tossed a Super Bowl record 5 interceptions with 3 returned for touchdowns.

Gruden made him a great QB, and Callahan didn't change squat, not even the audibles.  That's why Tampa Bay was all over Gannon in the Super Bowl.

Gabbert doesn't have Freemans arm and never will.

Collin Klein = Gabbert.

That is probably true... since Freeman tested out a lot worse at the Elite 11 camp and since Klein wasn't invited to the camp... oh wait... oops!! :twobirds:

Good points...wow, KSU would be so worried if Callahan could coach at all.  Fortunately, he is an idiot.  What's the over/under in cornland on when the players call him out like they did in Oakland where he was busy turning them from the contending team Gruden left to the pile of compost they have become.

Gabbert would not have made the Elite 11 in 06.  JF, Mitch Mustain, Matt Stafford, Juice Williams and Tim Tebow were all starters as true freshman.  Incredible class! Of course you have to realize, no Elite 11 QB has ever stayed at Nebraska. When  Gabbert wakes up, remember I told you so!  Oh, it will be callie's fault, not the kid's! ;)

The Elite 11 evaluators would say they disagree with you.  It was reported that Gabbert was out performing some of the college QB that came in to assist the camp.  So, you guys can keep saying I am looking for validation or that you know more than the Elite 11 evaluators, but I am just the person telling how it is and that Gabbert was the best performer at the camp in the last few years.  I didn't write that, the evaluators did so keep telling yourself that Gabbert sucks. :loly:

Then tell me why Gabbert isn't even rated as the number one quarterback in the country by either Scout or Rivals?

He was the only QB in the top 10 from ESPN's top 150. You can pick and choose who you want to believe.

What do you think about a HC that doesn't change the audibles when going up his predecessor in the Super Bowl?

I've heard of a lot of stupid coaching blunders, but that one is right up there.

New rankings come out through out August.  Lets wait to see how they look.  But, I can almost guarantee that Terrelle Pryor will still be #1 on Rivals, because they are in love with his athletic ability.  That is why he should be listed as Athlete instead of QB... a lot of teams aren't even recruiting him as a QB.

First off.. I'll take the majority (being Scout and Rivals). Secondly, I'll take the ones that are much more recognized for their role in rating recruits (Scout and Rivals).

Wow, that's your response?  Stick with "sucking farts out of car cushions" lines, they're funnier.

At KSU you get fired for screwing up the footwear.

At NU you hire a guy too dumb to switch up audibles when facing the previous coach.  And then you go on and on about how great he is in averaging five losses a season.

In three seasons Callahan has compiled three more 4+ loss seaons than Osborne did in his 25 year career.

Now get back to sucking them farts out of car seats..
You got a link where Bill didn't change the audibles? Never saw that printed before(and yes, I'm calling BS on you AGAIN).  :dancin:

Here you go:

ESPN Article

But note that the story, from the New York Daily News, says that not only did Jon "I Was a Teenaged Coach" Gruden play Rich Gannon in Bucs practices: he told Bucs defensive players the Raiders' audible code-words, and the Raiders came into the Super Bowl not having changed their code words. Oakland knew Gruden knew its audible codes and yet kept them! The Daily News says that during the game, when Gannon barked audibles, Tampa defenders immediately called out the play. Ye gods.

John Clayton quoting Bucs players

Quote
"Mainly, (Gruden) was throwing passes himself and showing us his tendencies and his audible calls,'' Brooks said. "I was kinda embarrassed because he completed a few passes. Sure enough, I'm over there during the game, and some of the words coach used in practice and some of the tendencies I heard were the same thing in the game. It was uncanny.''

Len Pasquarelli noted it as well

Quote
Some props here to Gruden who, several Tampa Bay players revealed, ran the "scout team" offense in the Thursday practice. He showed his players many of the Oakland tendencies he felt still existed, mimicked some of the things he felt quarterback Rich "I've Got No Cannon" Gannon would do in the pocket, and also passed on some audible calls and automatic checkdowns which obviously are still a part of the Raiders playbook.

Contra Costa Times tells the story...and what happened the following year

Quote
Gruden's knowledge of his former pupil and the audible calls he passed to his defense were a key factor in Gannon throwing those interceptions.

After the total core meltdown under Bill Callahan during the 2003 season, Gannon sat down and talked about how the coaching staff sabotaged the offense during training camp. He talked about an environment that made it virtually impossible for any coach to maintain discipline.

CNNSI points out that the Raider players knew what was happening

Quote
Gruden so outcoached his replacement, Bill Callahan, that it seemed as if Gruden was calling plays for both teams.

"We'd come to the line and we'd audible," said Oakland fullback Jon Ritchie. "Then you'd see their linebackers all turning to each other, going, '93 Willie! 93 Willie!' It's like they knew what it was."

Denver Post:  Raider player suggested changing audible calls....Callahan refused

Quote
During media day Tuesday, former Raiders tight end Roland Williams said he suggested to Callahan before the Big Game they change their audible codes because of Gruden's familiarity with Oakland's offense. Callahan stubbornly refused. When Raiders quarterback Rich Gannon called "smoke," Tampa Bay defensive players such as Lynch and Derrick Brooks knew which play was coming.

Seriously, how stupid does a coach have to be to not change the audibles when going up against the guy that created the audibles?

If you didn't hear that story, you're dumber than your average Husker girlfriend.

Either that or you ignored it not wanting to believe that your new coach was such a colossal moron.

And you saw what happened when Callahan tried to switch the Raiders over from Gruden's system....complete and total melt down.

You get red kool aid for not realizing what a colossal dimwit your head coach is.

And with all the discussion following first second third fourth whatever-choice-he-was Callahan's hiring, if you didn't hear about it, it was willful ignorance.
