So, I went up with my roomie tonight for some hoops at the Rec around 6ish. We get there, playin' around for about an hour when the football team starts to arrive (the usuals)...
First in is Antwon Moore and Jeron Mastrud, who actually came over and challenged me and another kid to a game of 2 on 2 until they were able to play full court with "the big boys". Let me state this quickly, I'm 5'9 about 150, haha...it was hardly a game. Antwon Moore is every bit of 210 and Mastrud was just toying with me under the hoop. All in good fun though.
About an hour later, in walks Alesana Alesana with Moses Manu. Moses is close with a friend of mine, so I've seen him basically since he got to Manhattan, and boy has the man trimmed down into a horse. Alesana is smooth for a man of his stature. I remember hearing about him enjoying basketball and ya, it's true cuz he's a solid post threat. (Somebody should inform Martin that he could be a nice walk on behind Colon!).

Now to the real part of this story...
Leon Patton arrived maybe 15 minutes after the bash brothers and I was telling my roomie not to expect to see much from him cuz of the ankle. Not 2 seconds after I finish my sentence, Leon takes off the shirt and joins up on a team of 5 with Manu and Alesana. He was running the floor, shooting jumpers- the works. Anybody who says he won't be ready by Auburn, don't bother holding your breath. The Tigers should beware, I'm pretty sure Leon will be in action!    :woohoo:

Jesus mother &@#%er. Excellent post.
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

Have you ever played w/ Freeman, a friend of mine goes to the rec center often and he said he's played w/ soul glo a couple times. Damn he would be a nice small forward. 6'6. If I lived in Manhattan I'd be up there all the time to get a chance to play w/ those guys.

I think he has some rivals video of him playing basketball.  I remember he was just a beast down low, throwing down alley-oops on people, etc.  Freak athlete.

Well I'm not an avid Rec guy, but I'm up there every chance I can get. I really wanted to ask Patton, but trust me, his play on the court spoke for itself as to if he'll be ready. But honestly, if anybody wants to see it, the footballers usually show at the Rec around 5 or 6. Can't say I've ever seen Freeman up there though. I know he had an intramural team that was like him and basically the offensive line! Haha, ya pretty dominant. As far as the football guys I've seen, Alesana is pretty good and some of the DB's aren't bad. Antwon Moore is a pretty funny guy- he was doggin' on Mastrud cuz I crossed him one time, "C'mon Carson, how you gonna let him do that to you!"

STRIKE FIRST. STRIKE HARD. NO MERCY
On a related note, I have watched and played against Alesana Alesana several times at the rec - he's been up there nearly every day all summer. The guy can really play, for his size he is incredibly quick and agile - and of course strong as hell, if he gets it near the bucket he's going to score. I'm looking forward to having him on our o-line.

It always amazed me that Brien Hanley was a scholarship basketball player at Xavier...as a guard.

Dude was 6'3"+ and 320lbs+ at KSU.

Isn't his name Jeron?  Or was this Coffman?

Or, was he making a reference like when you call someone Nancy on the golf course?  Could be they don't think to highly of Carson?

ding ding ding, he was definitely using it like the nancy on the golf course line. antwon used it very sarcastically too, so it's not like i would've been confused by the comment. and i doubt mastrud would've laughed if it was serious  or anything either. carson a basketball player??? i think not. nope, those genetics were supplied to his brother.
