Of course, we had a win over a top 5 team on our belts.

Nu had what, that home win over 4-7 ku? Home win over 3-8 Baylor? Home Win over 5-6 Missouri?

Yes, it was humiliating for them. I'm surprised Callahan held his job after that game. I'm just saying, it sucked watching the ku and Rutgers games after I had envisioned what could become of our season while watching Freeman torch UT's secondary.

"In manhattan, but more-so in Lincoln.  Would you have frequented a KSU board as much as you do now if it were available 10 years ago?"

10 years ago you didn't have enough fans to have a website

:frown: 1997, nothing important happened that year for the cats, did it?

70-10. Seriously!!

I would murder Prince if he made us witness that.

Easy there.. We did have to witness 39-20. Obviously not near as bad but it still blew horribly.

Wow you just shaved 20 points off of TT's score if thats the case we lost 50-10. :D

Nebraska wasn't a very good team that year.
One problem was Coz was the 3rd DC in 3 years and clearly wasn't ready for the Big XII, and may never be. But then McBride had some problems too and yet he adjusted. I guess we'll ride this horse and see where it leads us.

One question how many DCs have you guys had is this the second or 3rd in 3 years?

He was talking about ku last year.  K-State did not play TT last year.  That was 2005.  It would help if you knew what you were talking about.

I guess I can't speak for all of our fans, but that game doesn't bother me at all. At the time it was sad to see, but our program was in turmoil with new coaches, little offensive talent, and disgruntled players. We got our butts kicked, and we improved enough the next year to come within a bonehead fumble of beating them.

The games that really hurt me still are Penn State in 1982, 1984 Orange Bowl with Miami, 1994 Orange Bowl with Florida State, Penn State in 2002 (?), Texas in 1999, Colorado in 2001, and KSU in 2003.

I had a husker fan of a girlfriend that went to that game with my family minus me.  We weren't together much longer after that!  What a beautiful day!

Don't lie, KSU in 1998 still gives you a little pain in the neck.

The no-call on the Crouch facemask still pisses me off, I admit. Overall though, no. You guys had a lot better team than us that year, and we just lost after a hard fought game. Nothing more.

I should have added losing to Texas last year though. That was so painful to watch. I went from a major high to an incredible low in a fraction of a second.

...but but but but the dog ate my homework.

This thread was too easy.  Oh-oh-oh me!

Seriously...we heard it all.  "but but but they were redshirt Sophomores"...and?  So it was their 3rd year in a D1 program?  But but but but Ian Campbell was a 3rd year sophomore..and?

I won't make excuses for our defense this past year..it simply wasn't good enough under a new coach.  And they were young but they didn't get it done.

The irony here...3rd year sophs Carriker, Moore, Bradley, etc...they were just young but Nubb will turn around and say that Childs, Campbell, Walker, Josh Moore, Antwon Moore, Moran, etc...they aren't young.  They just suck...errrr, something like that.  But that isn't hypocritical or anything.

You forgot to mention that while third year players are too inexperienced to stop a 60 point loss, every newcomer replacing a departed player will be better, faster and more athletic and will shock the world!

no, not the dog.  The cat crapped on it!   :bootyshake:

Excuses or pretty worthless.  I guess my point was that of the players you listed, many were not at the level they were when they were drafted.  Guys do improve, right?  Or do you think Josh Freeman could have been a 1st round draft pick this year?  Maybe he needs to mature as a player, person and leader for your team.  I'll give you, he's got all the talent in the world, it's scary.  Time will tell.

So i guess hatter wins, congrats.  see you in the fall!

I can't believe no one mentioned the fact that NU only started one DT that game.  Kind of makes the "we only had 2 good DTs" argument even weaker.
